Date:

Reds designated C Corky Miller for assignment.

Miller picked up two hits in 16 at-bats while up with the big club for a couple weeks. He should have no problem clearing waivers and remaining in the organization.
May 10 - 2:39 PM

Reds purchased the contract of C Corky Miller from Triple-A Louisville.

Miller is taking the roster spot of Ryan Hanigan, who was placed on the disabled list with a strained oblique. Miller will serve as the primary backup to Devin Mesoraco.
Apr 21 - 10:34 AM

Reds re-signed C Corky Miller to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Miller hasn't appeared in the major leagues since 2010, when he batted .243/.282/.392 in 32 games. He's likely to spend the entire 2013 season at Triple-A Louisville.

Reds re-signed C Corky Miller to a minor league contract.

He'll also get a spring training invite. Miller, who turns 36 in March, batted .200/.348/.303 with three home runs, 11 RBI and a .652 OPS over 182 plate appearances with Triple-A Louisville last season. He has a .188 batting average over 575 plate appearances in the majors, so he's strictly veteran depth at the minor league level.

Reds re-signed C Corky Miller to a minor league contract.

Miller, who turns 35 in March, will also get an invite to spring training. He batted .243/.282/.392 with two homers and nine RBI in 74 at-bats with the Reds this past season. He'll likely only find his way back on the major league roster in the event of an injury.

Reds purchased the contract of C Corky Miller from Triple-A Louisville.

Miller will serve as an emergency third catcher for the Reds down the stretch. If he gets a start, it won't be until the Reds clinch the NL Central.

Reds sent C Corky Miller outright to Triple-A Louisville.

Miller was cleared to make room for the return of Ramon Hernandez. The 34-year-old catcher batted .246/.290/.354 with one home run and seven RBI in 65 at-bats with the big club after being called up from Triple-A Louisville on May 29. He should be back when the rosters expand.
Thu, Jul 22, 2010 11:21:00 AM

Reds recalled C Corky Miller from Triple-A Louisville.

Miller is going to serve as Ramon Hernandez's backup for the next month as Ryan Hanigan rehabs a fracture at the tip of his thumb. The 34-year-old was hitting .282 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 31 games for Louisville, but won't hold much fantasy value in the bigs.
Sat, May 29, 2010 05:48:00 PM

Reds sent catcher Corky Miller and outfielder Darnell McDonald outright to Triple-A Louisville.

Miller has somehow spent parts of nine seasons in the majors despite hitting .179. McDonald got his first extended taste of the big leagues this season at the age of 30 and performed decently, but the former first-round pick is very expendable.

Reds purchased the contract of C Corky Miller from Triple-A Lousiville.

Miller, 33, was acquired from the White Sox in late June for outfielder Norris Hopper. He hit just 205/.262/.282 during his time with Chicago and will carry little-to-no fantasy value in the Queen City.

Reds acquired C Corky Miller from White Sox for OF Norris Hopper.

Miller had no role on Chicago, with a clearly superior Ramon Castro backing up A.J. Pierzynski. Miller was hitting .205/.262/.282, so even in Cincinnati, he won't be worth much. He'll report to Triple-A Louisville.

White Sox designated C Corky Miller for assignment.

He was shipped down to make room for newly acquired Ramon Castro. The backup catcher was hitting .205 in 39 at-bats this season.

Corky Miller went 3-for-3 with a double Thursday versus the Rockies.

Miller looks like the early favorite to serve as A.J. Pierzynski's backup for the White Sox. However, even if he gets the job, he might be the AL's weakest backup for fantasy purposes. Miller was 5-for-60 with a homer with the Braves last season.
Thu, Feb 26, 2009 05:58:00 PM

Braves purchased the contract of catcher Corky Miller from Triple-A Richmond.

Miller spent most of the year in Atlanta, going 5-for-54 (.069) as Brian McCann's backup before being designated for assignment on August 1. He returns with even less of a role, as rookie Clint Sammons is now the Braves' second backstop.
