Wilson Betemit (knee) began jogging in a pool on Friday.

It's been very slow progress for Betemit in his recovery from surgery to repair a PCL tear in his right knee. He still has yet to be cleared to resume baseball activities, and the timetable for his return continues to be pushed back. He's virtually irrelevant for fantasy purposes at this point.

Wilson Betemit (knee) is now performing exercise activities in a pool, including using an underwater treadmill.

Betemit's rehab from surgery to repair a PCL tear in his right knee is just getting underway. The infielder is expected to miss at least the first two months of the season.

Orioles transferred INF Wilson Betemit from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move was made in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Alex Burnett. Betemit is out until early- to mid-June following surgery to repair a PCL tear in his right knee.

Wilson Betemit underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday on his injured right knee.

The procedure won't change his timetable. Betemit, who suffered a torn PCL in his right knee on March 25, is expected to be on the shelf until early-to-mid June.

Orioles placed INF/DH Wilson Betemit on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with a PCL tear in his right knee.

Betemit didn't need surgery, but he's still expected to miss at least the first two months of the season. Nolan Reimold is likely to see the bulk of the starts in the DH spot while Betemit is out.

Wilson Betemit (knee) said Tuesday that he'll be sidelined for 6-8 weeks before being reevaluated.

Betemit was diagnosed with a Grade 2/3 PCL tear in his right knee after he hurt himself running the bases on Monday. The good news is that the injury isn't expected to require surgery, but he figures to miss at least the first two months of the season. The Orioles could go with Nolan Reimold as their primary DH and Nate McLouth as their everyday left field during his absence.

Wilson Betemit has been diagnosed with a Grade 2/3 PCL tear, as well as "associated injuries" in his right knee.

That's no good. It's not clear at this point whether Betemit will require surgery, but the possibility appears to be on the table. Either way, he figures to be looking at a lengthy absence. Betemit had been slated to be the Orioles' regular DH this season, but the O's now figure to use multiple players in the spot while he's out.

Wilson Betemit was sent for an MRI on his right knee.

Betemit suffered the injury while running the bases in Monday's Grapefruit League game and had to be carted off the field. While the early word is that he has a sprained ligament in the knee, the Orioles should have more clarity on the situation on Monday night. It could be a lengthy absence.

Wilson Betemit has been diagnosed with a ligament sprain in his right knee.

Betemit suffered the injury Monday while running the bases in a Grapefruit League game. The Orioles, who seem very concerned about the severity of the sprain, will have him reevaluated by team doctors Tuesday morning. Betemit was expected to serve as the O's DH in 2013.

Wilson Betemit was taken off on a cart Monday after suffering an apparent injury on the basepaths.

Betemit slipped suddenly while sprinting from first base to second base. It looked like some kind of right knee injury. The Orioles should provide an update soon.

Wilson Betemit went 0-for-3 on Sunday and is 1-for-17 with eight strikeouts this spring.

Betemit tops the Orioles' depth chart at DH, but he doesn't figure to get much rope if he doesn't hit. We'd be more confident if we knew for sure that he was completely past the wrist problems that ended his 2012 season.

Wilson Betemit (wrist) has been swinging a bat from both sides of the plate this winter with no issues.

Betemit's 2012 season ended prematurely when he aggravated a right wrist injury in September. The ailment kept him from playing in the Dominican Winter League like he usually does, but he appears to be healed now and will be ready to roll at the start of spring training. The 31-year-old is currently in line to receive the bulk of the at-bats at DH for the Orioles.

Betemit hasn't played since aggravating a wrist injury on September 13. If he makes enough progress and the O's advance, he could be added to their ALCS roster.
