Red Sox recalled LHP Billy Traber from Triple-A Pawtucket.

The 29-year-old has a 3.32 ERA but only 22 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings at Triple-A and is only serving as bullpen depth after Boston's 13-inning loss on Tuesday. He shouldn't be a consideration in fantasy league.

The Red Sox are reportedly calling up Billy Traber from Triple-A Pawtucket.

The team's bullpen is thin after Tuesday's 13-inning loss to the Rays, so Traber will provide some depth. There's been no official word yet on a corresponding roster move, but indications are that Josh Reddick will be sent back to Triple-A.

Red Sox signed LHP Billy Traber to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Traber will compete for a job as a situational left-hander, but had a 7.02 ERA in limited work with the Yankees last season and has allowed a .273/.362/.438 line against lefties over the past three years.

Yankees recalled LHP Billy Traber from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Traber had a 4.50 ERA in eight innings for the Yankees back in April. He'll probably be an occasional specialist, but the Bombers can also use him as a middle reliever.

Yankees optioned LHP Billy Traber to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In something of a surprise, Chris Britton keeps his spot. Traber had a reasonable 4.50 ERA in eight innings, but since lefties were 6-for-16 with a homer and four walks against him, he wasn't doing his job. The Yanks will go without a lefty reliever for now.

Yankees purchased the contract of LHP Billy Traber from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

This would seem to pretty much guarantee that Traber will be the Yanks' bullpen lefty to begin the season. He's struck out five in four scoreless innings this spring. Sean Henn, who has allowed one earned run in three innings, probably won't have a spot even though he's out of options.
