Brett Myers (elbow) will make at least one more rehab start.
Myers' velocity was down on Wednesday in his second rehab outing with Double-A Akron, and he walked four while allowing three runs over 4 1/3 frames. Assuming his velocity comes back up the next time out, he could rejoin the Indians' rotation after that. May 23 - 6:16 PM

Brett Myers (elbow) will make his second minor league rehab start on Wednesday at Double-A Akron.

Myers threw 33 pitches last week in his first rehab start and will probably try to top 50 pitches on Wednesday. He'll make at least one more start in the minors after that before being considered for activation. The right-hander is attempting to pitch through a UCL tear.
May 20 - 2:24 PM

Brett Myers (elbow) fared well in his first minor league rehab start with Double-A Akron on Friday, allowing just one hit and a walk over three scoreless innings of work.

Myers threw 33 pitches in the game, 18 for strikes. He's dealing with a mild UCL tear in his elbow, but has chosen to try to pitch through the injury rather than undergoing surgery. It's a good first step, but he'll need several rehab outings before rejoining the Indians' rotation.
May 17 - 8:13 PM

Brett Myers (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Akron on Friday.

Myers is slated to throw three innings, so he'll obviously need a few rehab outings before rejoining the Indians' rotation. The right-hander has a mild tear of the UCL in his elbow but is trying to pitch through it.
May 17 - 9:53 AM

Brett Myers (elbow) threw around 45 pitches Tuesday in a bullpen session at Citizens Bank Park.

Myers could be cleared to make a rehab start this weekend if he wakes up Wednesday with no abnormal discomfort. The right-hander has been on the disabled list since April 21 with a mild tear of the UCL in his elbow. The Indians could ask him to make multiple rehab starts.
May 14 - 5:50 PM

Brett Myers is scheduled to throw off a mound Friday for the first time since hitting the disabled list.

Myers has been out since April 21 with a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. That type of injury usually requires surgery, but the 32-year-old right-hander is hoping to pitch through it. There is no timetable for his return to Cleveland's starting rotation.
May 8 - 4:47 PM

Indians manager Terry Francona said Monday that Brett Myers (elbow) is progressing "very well" in his rehab.

Myers was diagnosed with a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow last month, but he's going to try to pitch through the injury. He is scheduled to throw a bullpen session this week and one early next week before being re-evaluated. There's no clear timetable for his return.
May 7 - 10:04 AM

Brett Myers (elbow) is hoping to resume throwing off a mound in a week.

Myers played long-toss from 75 feet on Saturday for the second straight day. "I was throwing at about 75 feet both days," said Myers. "I'll take Sunday off and go from there. Hopefully, I'll be back on the mound in a week. That would be the ideal plan for me." Myers is nursing a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow but is trying to pitch through the ailment.
May 5 - 9:51 AM

Brett Myers (elbow) was cleared by a doctor on Friday to begin playing catch.

Myers revealed the news himself on Twitter. The right-hander had been shut down for two weeks with a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, but he's obviously hoping to avoid surgery. We'll obviously know more about his progress once he's throwing from a mound.
May 3 - 12:17 PM

Brett Myers (elbow) will be re-evaluated on Friday and could be cleared to start a throwing program at that time.

Myers has been shut down for two weeks with a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. The throwing program would be gradual, so it would take him a while before he's ready to rejoin the Indians' rotation.
Apr 30 - 8:08 PM

Brett Myers has been diagnosed with a mild tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

That type of injury can often lead to Tommy John surgery, but it's not a consideration at this time. Myers was officially placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday morning and won't pick up a baseball for the next two weeks. There is obviously no timetable for his return.
Apr 22 - 1:05 PM

Indians placed RHP Brett Myers on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm injury.

Myers left his last start because of forearm soreness, and the injury was apparently serious enough that he'll have to miss a few turns in the Indians rotation. Fernando Nieve was promoted to take his roster spot, and Corey Kluber will make Myers' next scheduled start against the White Sox on Wednesday.
Apr 21 - 12:00 PM

Brett Myers will head back to Cleveland on Sunday to undergo an MRI on his right forearm.

Myers was pulled from Friday night's game after the fifth inning because of forearm soreness. The Indians should be able to get some answers from the MRI results. It's very possible that the veteran right-hander will ultimately be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Apr 20 - 5:35 PM

Brett Myers is dealing with right forearm soreness.

Myers was removed from Friday's game after the fifth inning and will likely need to be reevaluated this week. The Indians are concerned about his diminished velocity and league-leading 10 home runs allowed. Myers should avoid the disabled list for now, but this has the potential to be a serious setback.
Apr 20 - 9:27 AM

Brett Myers pitched decently in a losing effort against his former team on Friday, surrendering three runs on five hits over five frames.

All of the damage against him came in the second inning, where J.D. Martinez blasted a two-run homer, which was immediately followed by a solo shot from Rick Ankiel. Myers settled in nicely afterwards though, and did enough to keep his team in the game. He'll carry an 8.02 ERA into Wednesday's start against the White Sox in Chicago, where he'll again attempt to earn his first win as an Indian.
