Jerome Williams allowed three runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings during Sunday's win over the Braves.
Williams walked two and struck out two in the contest. The Braves did all of their damage early, with a pair of runs scoring in the first inning via a two-run single by Jace Peterson and another running coming in during the third when Kelly Johnson hit a shallow double to score Freddie Freeman. Williams has been solid for the Phillies thus far, posting a 3.80 ERA and 15/5 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings. Considering he was out of baseball completely from 2007-2011, it's remarkable that the 33-year-old appears to have found new legs. Williams will square off with the Marlins in a road start when he next takes the mound. Apr 26 - 4:21 PM

Jerome Williams allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings to pick up the win in Tuesday's 7-3 victory against the Marlins.

Williams scattered eight hits and a walk while striking out six. He made only one large mistake, resulting in a 450-foot home run to right-center off Giancarlo Stanton's bat. Williams revitalized his career after coming over to the Phillies in August last season and is trying to prove that it was no fluke. He'll take on the Braves to finish off the Phillies' homestand on Sunday.
Apr 21 - 9:50 PM

Jerome Williams was hit around for five runs (four earned) in five innings en route to a loss versus the Mets on Wednesday.

Williams wasn't throwing anything past the Mets on this particular evening, a far cry from his season debut on Friday. The right-hander yielded 10 hits -- including home runs to Travis d'Arnaud and Lucas Duda -- while walking one and striking out only one. The pitching-thin but tanking Phillies are simply happy he'll take the ball every fifth day. Williams matches up at home with the Marlins next.
Apr 15 - 10:01 PM

Jerome Williams tossed six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against the Nationals on Friday.

The lone run scored on a leadoff homer from Michael Taylor in the first inning. The veteran right-hander held the Nats in check for the rest of the night, striking out six and walking just one, but the Phillies didn't provide any offense until he left the game. Williams should eat some innings in the back-end of Philadelphia's rotation this season, but he's not a fantasy option.
Apr 10 - 10:10 PM

Jerome Williams dropped to 0-3 this spring after giving up six runs -- four earned -- in four innings Saturday against the Twins.

Williams has surrendered 11 runs -- eight earned -- and 19 hits over seven innings in his last two starts. You already know to stay far away from him in NL-only leagues, right?
Mar 28 - 3:49 PM

Jerome Williams gave up five runs -- four earned -- in three innings against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Williams had nothing to keep Red Sox hitters off balance today. He gave up hits to 10 of the 17 batters he faced, and he only made it through three because he got three double-play balls, two of which were pretty well hit. He also didn't help himself by failing to cover first base on a grounder to the right side, resulting in an infield single. Williams remains in line to be the Phillies' No. 2 starter, which is a pretty scary thought.
Mar 22 - 4:37 PM

Jerome Williams (hamstring) is slated to start on Sunday.

Williams was scratched from a scheduled outing on Tuesday due to right hamstring soreness, but it appears he's over it. The veteran righty will begin the season in the Phillies' rotation.
Mar 19 - 9:14 PM

Jerome Williams was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League start after tweaking his right hamstring.

David Buchanan will make the start instead. Williams, who projects to begin the season with a rotation spot, is considered day-to-day.
Mar 17 - 9:48 AM

Jerome Williams pitched three innings, allowing one run, Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Williams allowed two hits, walked none and struck out one. He and David Buchanan have both worked on the same day in their first two outings of the spring, but barring a big surprise, there will be rotation spots for both at the beginning of the season. Williams has allowed one run in five innings so far.
Mar 7 - 3:54 PM

Jerome Williams came out of the bullpen to pitch in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.

Williams was originally scheduled to start the game, but David Buchanan pitched instead. However, it appears that Williams is fine and the Phillies simply decided to flip-flop the order at the last mintue.
Mar 3 - 1:40 PM

Jerome Williams was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League start against the Yankees.

No word on the reason for the change, but Williams wasn't present when lineups were announced. David Buchanan made the start instead. The Phillies should pass along an update soon.
Mar 3 - 1:13 PM

Jerome Williams will start in the Phillies' Grapefruit League opener Tuesday against the Yankees.

Others scheduled to pitch include David Buchanan, Joely Rodriguez, Jeanmar Gomez, Mario Hollands, Sean O'Sullivan, and Luis Garcia. The Phillies re-signed Williams to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million following a successful two-month stint with the club at the end of last season. In 57 1/3 innings, the right-hander posted a 2.83 ERA with a 38/17 K/BB ratio. Williams likely will be traded at some point during the season.
Mar 3 - 10:40 AM

Phillies re-signed RHP Jerome Williams to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

The deal includes performance-based bonuses that could carry the total value up to $4 million. Williams was a nice surprise down the stretch this year for Philadelphia, posting a 2.83 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 38/17 K/BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings (nine starts), but expecting him to replicate that success over a full season is probably foolish. The 32-year-old right-hander owns a 4.40 career ERA and a 1.36 career WHIP.

Jerome Williams took a no-decision in his final start of the season, yielding four runs in six innings as the Phillies earned a 5-4 win against the Braves on Friday.

Williams didn't have his best stuff, which hasn't been said often since joining the Phillies in early August. He gave up eight hits, walked one, and struck out three. In nine starts with the Phillies, Williams is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA and a 38/17 K/BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings. The 32-year-old has rebuilt a bit of value and should be able to latch on somewhere in the off-season.

Jerome Williams earned a win on Saturday after holding the Athletics scoreless over seven innings.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, Williams is the first to defeat the same team (Athletics) three times with three different teams (Astros, Rangers, Phillies). Williams held the A's to just four hits while walking one and striking out three. The 32-year-old has pitched well since joining the Phillies, now 4-2 with a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 35/16 K/BB ratio. Williams will make his final start of the season at home against the Braves on Friday.
