Mark Hendrickson has signed with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League.

Hendrickson, 39, converted to a sidearmer last year and posted a 3.06 ERA and 37/17 K/BB ratio over 67 2/3 innings with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate. While he failed to attract interest from MLB teams this winter, he's still trying to keep his career alive.

Dan Conolly of the Baltimore Sun was told that the free agent lefty "looked good" on the mound. Hendrickson will throw again on Friday before the O's decide whether to offer him a contract. He sat out the entire 2012 season.

Jake Arrieta lasted just 4 1/3 innings Thursday and Zach Britton retired only two batters Friday, so even though the O's have an eight-man bullpen it's quite taxed. Hendrickson has a 2.87 ERA in 19 appearances for Norfolk this season.
