Pedro Feliciano has officially joined High-A St. Lucie.

Feliciano has spent the past two weeks in extended spring training in order to build strength in his left shoulder. The 36-year-old could be an option for the major league bullpen if he shows improvement in the days ahead.
Apr 15 - 5:29 PM

Pedro Feliciano threw a simulated inning Tuesday in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Feliciano didn't make the Opening Day roster because the Mets wanted to see him build more velocity. The veteran southpaw will begin the season with High-A St. Lucie and could be an option for the major league bullpen at some point.
Apr 3 - 12:49 PM

Pedro Feliciano will begin the season with High-A St. Lucie as opposed to pitching for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Feliciano was informed Tuesday that he was not making the Opening Day roster, but he has elected to stay with the organization. The hope is that he'll continue to build arm strength and eventually become an option for the major league bullpen.
Mar 27 - 1:31 PM

Pedro Feliciano will accept a minor league assignment from the Mets.

Feliciano was informed by the Mets on Monday that he wouldn't make the Opening Day roster, but he has opted to stay with the organization rather than test free agency. The hope is that his velocity will increase as he builds arm strength. The veteran southpaw could be an option for the major league bullpen at some point this year.
Mar 26 - 9:11 AM

The Mets have asked Pedro Feliciano to report to Triple-A Las Vegas to work on his arm strength.

Feliciano has been slowed this spring by a heart condition and isn't where he needs to be physically. But he has the option of testing free agency again and might take that route. "I have to talk to my agent first and then see what we're going to decide," the lefty said Monday.
Mar 25 - 8:38 AM

Pedro Feliciano (heart condition) pitched in a B-game Tuesday against the Marlins.

Feliciano allowed a leadoff homer and also hit a batter in his inning of work, but he was satisfied with the effort. The veteran southpaw was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic heart condition, but it's not expected to impact his availability to pitch. However, he will wear a heart monitor for the next two weeks as he battles for a bullpen job.
Mar 5 - 3:08 PM

Pedro Feliciano (heart condition) threw a bullpen session Friday.

Mike Kerwick of the Bergen Record termed it as a "little bullpen session," so he likely didn't throw with full intensity. Feliciano was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic heart condition, but it's not expected to impact his availability to pitch. The veteran left-hander is in camp this spring as a non-roster invitee and should be ready for game action before long.
Mar 1 - 4:19 PM

Pedro Feliciano was diagnosed with a rare genetic heart condition called left ventricular noncompaction.

The good news is that Feliciano's agent said it should not affect his ability to pitch. The veteran left-hander has been cleared to resume baseball activities on the condition that he wears a heart monitor in the short-term. Assuming no abnormalities are found, there should be enough time for him to get ready for the season. Feliciano, a non-roster invitee this spring, is trying to win a spot in the Mets' bullpen.
Feb 28 - 5:11 PM

Pedro Feliciano (heart condition) has been cleared to resume baseball activities.

Feliciano had been shut down and wearing a heart monitor while doctors investigated an irregular heartbeat, as well as a suspected small "hole" in his heart. The left-hander received clearance after undergoing some tests Wednesday. He's trying to win a spot in the Opening Day bullpen.
Feb 27 - 8:52 PM

Mets GM Sandy Alderson said Pedro Feliciano (heart condition) won't resume baseball activity for at least two weeks.

Alderson added that it's still not clear if Feliciano has a "hole" in his heart, and that the Mets will continue to monitor the situation. While the condition is not life-threatening, Feliciano will be facing long odds to make the Opening Day roster. The 36-year-old is attempting to return to the majors for the first time since 2010.
Feb 24 - 8:48 AM

Pedro Feliciano has been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.

Feliciano was sent to New York on Friday for further testing after an undisclosed "non-orthopedic" issue was flagged in his initial team physical. The heart condition is not believed to be life-threatening and isn't expected to require surgery. Feliciano has been shut down indefinitely and it's not yet known when he'll be cleared to resume baseball activities.
Feb 23 - 9:14 AM

Pedro Feliciano and Jamie Hoffmann have been sent back to New York due to a medical issue.

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson didn't go into further detail other than to say it's for non-orthopedic reasons. It's not clear at this point how the ailments will affect their availability. Feliciano, of course, has missed the last two seasons due to shoulder woes.
Feb 22 - 10:39 AM

Mets signed LHP Pedro Feliciano to a minor league contract.

He's been given an invitation to spring training. Feliciano, of course, had his best years with the Mets, posting a 3.09 ERA from 2006-10 before injuries sabotaged his two years with the Yankees. If the left-hander can show in spring training that his shoulder is healthy, he should break camp with the big club.
Jan 21 - 12:54 PM

Pedro Feliciano plans to pitch in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

Feliciano never threw a pitch for the Yankees during his two years with the club due to shoulder issues, but he's reportedly healthy now. He could make for an interesting gamble for a club on a non-guaranteed deal.
