Manny Parra (elbow) has yet to resume throwing.

Parra has been on the disabled list for a week with a strained left elbow and it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. "He still has a little bit of soreness in the back of his elbow, which is a little bit more like a bone bruise. It's providing some discomfort," Reds manager Bryan Price said.

Manny Parra has been unavailable the last few days due to a stiff back.

"He has a little bit of back stiffness," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "It is not something I wanted to announce to our opposing team. His back has been acting up and he's been unavailable." Parra hasn't appeared in a game since July 20, but it appears that he'll avoid the DL.

Reds manager Bryan Price revealed Wednesday that Manny Parra went 12 days in between appearances because he'd been dealing with a "cranky" shoulder.

Parra last pitched on June 29 before retiring the only batter he faced on one pitch Tuesday. It appears the shoulder is no longer a concern. "His shoulder was cranky," Price said. "We worked through that, he could have pitched, but we felt if we didn’t pitch him, it gave him a better chance to continue without any flare-ups. By the end of that San Francisco series, he was feeling much better."

Manny Parra registered a two-inning save in the Reds' win over the Mets on Sunday.

Not your typical two-inning save, Parra was charged with holding a one-run lead against the top of the Mets' order. He answered by striking out two while not allowing a baserunner. He hasn't allowed a run in 4 2/3 innings this season and earned more work in high-leverage situations with his performance Sunday.
