Dodgers designated RHP Chin-Hui Tsao for assignment.

The 34-year-old hurler appeared in just five games for the big league club, registering a 10.29 ERA, 2.57 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio over seven innings. There's a good chance that he passes through waivers unclaimed and continues to provide organizational bullpen depth in the minor leagues.
Jul 30 - 8:28 PM

Dodgers optioned RHP Chin-Hui Tsao to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Tsao was shelled for six earned runs in two-thirds of an inning Saturday by the Mets. There's a reason the 34-year-old right-hander hadn't appeared in a major league game since 2007. He might not get another shot soon.
Jul 25 - 10:40 PM

Chin-Hui Tsao picked up a win in his return to the majors after throwing a scoreless inning as the Dodgers beat the Brewers 3-2 on Friday.

Tsao wouldn't have been used with a lead tonight, but manager Don Mattingly thought it was fine to break him in down 2-0 in the seventh. It was after the Dodgers rallied in the bottom of the inning that he came in line for the win, and J.P. Howell and Kenley Jansen held the fort from there. It was Tsao's first appearance in the majors since 2007 and his first win since 2005.
Jul 11 - 1:38 AM

Dodgers purchased the contract of RHP Chin-Hui Tsao from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Tsao, 34, last pitched in the majors with the Dodgers in 2007. The right-hander has a 4.40 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 39/9 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings in the minors. He'll serve as middle relief help with the Dodgers.
Jul 8 - 7:34 PM

Dodgers promoted RHP Chin-Hui Tsao from Double-A Tulsa to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Tsao has allowed four runs in five Double-A innings and hasn't pitched in the bigs since 2007. He held a 5.56 ERA for the Royals' Triple-A team last season. This is just a typical minor league roster shift here, nothing portending a major league appearance.
Apr 23 - 5:43 PM

Dodgers signed RHP Chin-Hui Tsao to a minor league contract.

Tsao did not receive an invitation to spring training. The 33-year-old reliever appeared in seven games at the Triple-A level in 2014 with the Royals, posting a 5.56 ERA. He hasn't been in the majors since 2007.
Jan 11 - 11:52 AM

The Dodgers are close to signing Chin-Hui Tsao, according to Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times.

Tsao last pitched in the majors in 2007, and he's been out of baseball entirely since being expelled from the Taiwanese league on game-fixing charges in 2009. Tsao, 33, has a 5.40 ERA in 88 1/3 innings in MLB for his career. The right-hander was previously a member of the Dodgers before leaving the majors. It'll be a minor league contract.

Royals reassigned RHP Chin-Hui Tsao, RHP Roman Colon and C Ken Huckaby to minor league camp.

Tsao was supposed to be healthy, but the Royals still were very careful with him this spring, and he made just six appearances, allowing five runs in five innings. He'll be the first reliever called up if he gets off to a good start at Triple-A Omaha.

Chin-Hui Tsao yielded three runs in two-thirds of an inning out of the pen Saturday against the Brewers.

Tsao, who pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday, was making just his second appearance. The Royals will be extra careful with him to see if they can get some quality results before he goes down with the inevitable arm injury.
Sat, Mar 8, 2008 06:34:00 PM

Royals signed RHP Chin-Hui Tsao to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

In a rare healthy moment, Tsao opened last season with 10 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in the process. His troublesome shoulder became a factor again soon thereafter, and he didn't pitch after July. Tsao has a 5.40 ERA in 88 1/3 innings as a major leaguer. He could be a major asset in Kansas City's bullpen if he could somehow make it through an entire season in 2008. However, the odds favor him spending half of the year on the DL.

Chin-Hui Tsao has reportedly signed a minor league deal with the Royals.

Tsao became a free agent when the Dodgers sent him outright to the minors two months ago. Significantly worst bets have already signed major league deals, so Tsao would be a very nice pickup for Kansas City.
Mon, Dec 31, 2007 12:25:00 PM

RHP Chin-Hui Tsao declined his assignment to Triple-A and became a free agent.

Seemingly always injured, Tsao pitched well for the Dodgers in 2007 before going down with more shoulder problems. He'll likely latch on somewhere on a minor league contract and has the ability to be a valuable setup man if he can simply remain healthy for once.
Tue, Nov 13, 2007 09:10:00 AM

Dodgers sent RHP Chin-hui Tsao outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Tsao opened last season with 10 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in the process. Unfortunately, he ran into more shoulder problems in late May and he made just six appearances over the rest of the season, the last coming on July 14. He never underwent surgery, so maybe he'll be healthy to begin 2008. If so, he could be a big part of some team's pen for however long his arm holds up.

Chin-Hui Tsao (right shoulder strain) is still unable to throw and it is doubtful he will return this season.

Tsao has been out since mid-July with a sore shoulder.
