Chin-Hui Tsao yielded three runs in two-thirds of an inning out of the pen Saturday against the Brewers.

Tsao, who pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday, was making just his second appearance. The Royals will be extra careful with him to see if they can get some quality results before he goes down with the inevitable arm injury.

Royals signed RHP Chin-Hui Tsao to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

In a rare healthy moment, Tsao opened last season with 10 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in the process. His troublesome shoulder became a factor again soon thereafter, and he didn't pitch after July. Tsao has a 5.40 ERA in 88 1/3 innings as a major leaguer. He could be a major asset in Kansas City's bullpen if he could somehow make it through an entire season in 2008. However, the odds favor him spending half of the year on the DL.

Chin-Hui Tsao has reportedly signed a minor league deal with the Royals.

Tsao became a free agent when the Dodgers sent him outright to the minors two months ago. Significantly worst bets have already signed major league deals, so Tsao would be a very nice pickup for Kansas City.

RHP Chin-Hui Tsao declined his assignment to Triple-A and became a free agent.

Seemingly always injured, Tsao pitched well for the Dodgers in 2007 before going down with more shoulder problems. He'll likely latch on somewhere on a minor league contract and has the ability to be a valuable setup man if he can simply remain healthy for once.

Dodgers sent RHP Chin-hui Tsao outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Tsao opened last season with 10 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in the process. Unfortunately, he ran into more shoulder problems in late May and he made just six appearances over the rest of the season, the last coming on July 14. He never underwent surgery, so maybe he'll be healthy to begin 2008. If so, he could be a big part of some team's pen for however long his arm holds up.

Chin-Hui Tsao (right shoulder strain) is still unable to throw and it is doubtful he will return this season.

Tsao has been out since mid-July with a sore shoulder.

Tsao isn't expected to be an option to be activated from the disabled list until late August or early September.

Dodgers placed RHP Chin-Hui Tsao on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.

Tsao was largely responsible for blowing what seemed like a pretty comfortable lead in Saturday's game against the Giants and just didn't seem to have the same stuff since coming off the DL June 30 that he did at the beginning of the year. As a result, his shoulder has him on the DL for a second time.

Tsao struckout two in the outing. He could be activated from the disabled list in the next few days. Tony Abreu will likely be returned to Las Vegas when Tsao is activated.

Tsao could return to the major league bullpen early next week if he remains pain-free after a couple outings for Las Vegas.

Chin-Hui Tsao (shoulder) threw all his pitches at around 90 percent effort from the bullpen mound on Wednesday.

Tsao will throw another session on Friday or Saturday. He is getting very close to beginning to throw a batting practice session or simulated game. A return before the end of June is expected.
