According to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, Chad Gaudin has all but locked up a spot in the Giants' Opening Day bullpen as a swingman.

Schulman points to the fact that Gaudin has being given a start in Wednesday's split-squad game against the Padres. The 30-year-old right-hander has compiled a 2.19 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9/4 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings this spring. He's a non-factor in fantasy leagues.

Giants signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.

The deal presumably includes a spring training invite. Gaudin, who turns 30 in March, posted a 4.54 ERA and 57/26 K/BB ratio over 69 1/3 innings this past season with the Marlins. He'll try to win a bullpen spot.

Chad Gaudin has won a spot on the Marlins' Opening Day roster.

Gaudin, a career journeyman, has a 4.63 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in parts of nine seasons in the majors. The Marlins have also informed infielder Donnie Murphy that he has made the team. Non-roster invitee Donovan Solano is likely to begin the season at Triple-A.

Marlins signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.

Gaudin was released by the Nationals last July after posting a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings with the big club. He finished the season with Triple-A Las Vegas in the Blue Jays' organization. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 4.63 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in the big leagues and figures to be a longshot to make the Opening Day roster.

Blue Jays signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor-league contract.

Cut loose by the Nationals in late July, Gaudin posted a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio in 8 1/3 major-league innings this season. He'll likely see action with the Blue Jays at some point, but with his fourth organization in two seasons, he's probably at the end of the line.

Nationals released RHP Chad Gaudin.

Gaudin was designated for assignment earlier this week. The 28-year-old right-hander had a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings during his time with the Nats.

Nationals activated RHP Chad Gaudin from the 15-day disabled list; designated him for assignment.

Gaudin's 30-day rehab stint with Triple-A Syracuse had expired, so the Nationals were required to make a roster move. The 28-year-old right-hander was originally placed on the disabled list at the end of April due to right shoulder inflammation. Now healthy, he could draw some interest on the waiver wire.

Chad Gaudin (shoulder) played catch Monday.

It was the first time he had played catch in a few weeks. He's not close to going out on a minor league rehab assignment, so there's no clear timetable on his return. The 28-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since the end of April with right shoulder inflammation.

Chad Gaudin (shoulder) is scheduled to play catch Sunday.

Gaudin has been on the disabled list since the end of April with right shoulder inflammation. There's no clear timetable for his return, though we'll likely know more depending upon how he feels after Sunday.

There's no timetable for when Chad Gaudin (shoulder) will go on a rehab assignment.

Gaudin was eligible to come off the DL Tuesday, but obviously he's not close to being ready. Even when he is ready, it's not a given that he'll regain a spot in the Nats' bullpen, as the man who replaced him, Henry Rodriguez, will retain his spot, and Rule 5 pick Brian Broderick will also likely be kept.

Nationals placed RHP Chad Gaudin on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

The move was made retroactive to April 26. Gaudin is sporting a rough 6.48 ERA and 2.40 WHIP through 10 relief appearances this season. He should be back in the Nationals' bullpen in about three weeks.

Chad Gaudin has earned a spot in the Nationals' season-opening bullpen.

A nice reward for a nice spring from Gaudin. He struck out 12 batters in 11 Grapefruit League frames.

Chad Gaudin tossed five innings of shutout ball as a Nationals split-squad edged a Mets split-squad 6-5 on Thursday.

Gaudin struck out six in the gem. He's still a big long shot to claim a spot in the Nationals' rotation, but this will help his chances of making the team as a middle reliever.

Chad Gaudin allowed five runs -- three earned -- in three-plus innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Gaudin opened with three scoreless innings, but he failed to retire even one of the five batters he faced in the fourth. The Yankees ended up scoring eight times in the inning to ruin Gaudin's day. The veteran is a long shot to crack Washington's staff.
