Chad Gaudin allowed four runs in five innings and took a no-decision as the Giants lost to the Braves.
It was easily the worst of Gaudin's three starts, as he gave up eight hits and a walk, including two B.J. Upton homers. More concerning, he didn't strike out a batter in the start. He's still been more good than bad in his starts, so he'll likely get another shot when the Giants face the Marlins on Thursday. Jun 15 - 7:39 PM

Chad Gaudin gave up two runs on five hits over six innings in Sunday's win against the Diamondbacks.

He allowed just one walk and finished with seven strikeouts. Gaudin now has back-to-back quality starts and should continue to have value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues. He has a chance to claim a regular spot in the Giants' rotation with Ryan Vogelsong on the disabled list.
Jun 9 - 7:17 PM

Chad Gaudin is expected to start Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Gaudin allowed two runs over six innings Sunday in his first start since 2009. With Ryan Vogelsong on the DL, the Giants will continue to go with Gaudin as their fifth starter. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 2.21 ERA and 1.15 WHIP.
Jun 3 - 8:29 AM

Chad Gaudin's first start in the majors since 2009 was a good one, as he held the Cardinals to two runs over six innings in the 4-2 victory.

He struck out five, didn't walk anyone and allowed just four hits. David Freese got to Gaudin with a two-out, two-run homer to tie things up in the fourth, but that was all the Cards could muster against the journeyman. Gaudin has no doubt earned another start, which will come next weekend in Arizona.
Jun 2 - 5:44 PM

Chad Gaudin will start Sunday against the Cardinals.

Mike Kickham struggled filling in for Ryan Vogelsong (hand) earlier this week, so now Gaudin will get a shot. The 30-year-old has a 2.05 ERA and 28 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings out of the Giants' bullpen this season, but he hasn't started a game in the majors since 2009. He doesn't make for a great play for fantasy purposes.
May 31 - 6:48 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Chad Gaudin is likely to start Sunday in St. Louis.

The Giants gave Mike Kickham the first shot at Ryan Vogelsong's (hand) sport, but he really struggled Tuesday and was sent back down. Gaudin boasts a 2.05 ERA and 1.24 WHIP as the club's long reliever but hasn't made a start in the majors since 2009. He can be avoided for fantasy purposes against the Cardinals.
May 29 - 7:57 PM

Chad Gaudin could get a shot in the Giants' rotation following the injury to Ryan Vogelsong (hand).

Gaudin has been great in long relief for San Francisco this season, posting a 2.08 ERA and 1.19 WHIP while striking out nearly a batter per inning. He's thrown more than two innings just once this month, though, so he's obviously not as stretched out as you'd hope. Manager Bruce Bochy and GM Brian Sabean have also noted that Gaudin is very valuable in his current role. Other options to replace Vogelsong include Shane Loux and Mike Kickham.
May 24 - 9:27 AM

Giants purchased the contract of RHP Chad Gaudin from Triple-A Fresno.

Gaudin, 30, has posted a 2.81 ERA and 12/3 K/BB ratio over 16 innings this spring. The veteran right-hander will operate in middle relief.
Mar 26 - 12:45 PM

According to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, Chad Gaudin has all but locked up a spot in the Giants' Opening Day bullpen as a swingman.

Schulman points to the fact that Gaudin has being given a start in Wednesday's split-squad game against the Padres. The 30-year-old right-hander has compiled a 2.19 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9/4 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings this spring. He's a non-factor in fantasy leagues.
Mar 19 - 10:21 PM

Giants signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.

The deal presumably includes a spring training invite. Gaudin, who turns 30 in March, posted a 4.54 ERA and 57/26 K/BB ratio over 69 1/3 innings this past season with the Marlins. He'll try to win a bullpen spot.

Chad Gaudin has won a spot on the Marlins' Opening Day roster.

Gaudin, a career journeyman, has a 4.63 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in parts of nine seasons in the majors. The Marlins have also informed infielder Donnie Murphy that he has made the team. Non-roster invitee Donovan Solano is likely to begin the season at Triple-A.

Marlins signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.

Gaudin was released by the Nationals last July after posting a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings with the big club. He finished the season with Triple-A Las Vegas in the Blue Jays' organization. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 4.63 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in the big leagues and figures to be a longshot to make the Opening Day roster.

Blue Jays signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor-league contract.

Cut loose by the Nationals in late July, Gaudin posted a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio in 8 1/3 major-league innings this season. He'll likely see action with the Blue Jays at some point, but with his fourth organization in two seasons, he's probably at the end of the line.

Nationals released RHP Chad Gaudin.

Gaudin was designated for assignment earlier this week. The 28-year-old right-hander had a 6.48 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings during his time with the Nats.

Nationals activated RHP Chad Gaudin from the 15-day disabled list; designated him for assignment.

Gaudin's 30-day rehab stint with Triple-A Syracuse had expired, so the Nationals were required to make a roster move. The 28-year-old right-hander was originally placed on the disabled list at the end of April due to right shoulder inflammation. Now healthy, he could draw some interest on the waiver wire.
