Orioles acquired RHP Scott Proctor from the Giants for cash considerations.

Proctor posted a promising 1.79 ERA and 35 saves in the Korean Baseball Organization in 2013. He wasn't going to make the Giants' Opening Day roster, so they decided to get what they could for him. He'll open the season at Triple-A Norfolk, but has a good chance of seeing time in the Orioles bullpen at some point in 2013.

The deal was agreed to last week and has now been made official. Proctor posted a promising 1.79 ERA and 35 saves in 57 appearances last season in the KBO. He will open the 2013 season at Triple-A Fresno.

The story quotes Proctor's agent, who said that his client has been invited to spring training. The 36-year-old right-hander pitched in the Korean Baseball Organization last season, posting a 1.79 ERA and 35 saves over 57 appearances. He owns a 4.78 ERA over seven seasons in the majors.

Scott Proctor signed a contract with the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Proctor, 34, posted an ugly 7.14 ERA and 29/31 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings last season between the Braves and Yankees last season. He'll be teammates with former major-leaguer Dustin Nippert, who signed a deal with the club last March.

Scott Proctor pitched three scoreless innings of relief and knocked in the game's winning run in Atlanta's 4-3 victory against the Pirates in Tuesday's 19-inning marathon.

No runs were scored between the fourth and 18th innings. The game tied the Red-Phillies game on May 25 for the longest of the season. It was Proctor's first career RBI. The game ended in controversy, as Proctor, the unlikely hero, hit a grounder to third with one out and runners on second and third. Pedro Alvarez went home with the ball and clearly threw out Julio Lugo by several feet. Home plate umpire Jerry Meals inexplicably called Lugo safe, shocking even the Braves infielder, who looked despondent after he was apparently thrown out for the inning's second out. Pirates manager Clint Hurdle went berserk as Atlanta embarked on a wild celebration. The Braves improved to 60-44 while Pittsburgh drops to 53-48.
