John Grabow's contract will be guaranteed for $800,000 if he makes the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.

The deal also includes $200,000 in incentives based on games pitched. Grabow has not allowed a run in six innings this spring and is looking to claim a spot in the bullpen as a left-handed specialist.

Dodgers signed LHP John Grabow to a minor league contract.

Grabow posted an ugly 4.76 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 62 1/3 innings this past year out of the Cubs bullpen. The 33-year-old southpaw will look to claim a lefty specialist spot with the Dodgers during spring training.

John Grabow (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch Thursday against the Athletics.

Grabow hasn't pitched since the Cactus League opener on March 27 due to shoulder soreness. The Cubs still think the veteran southpaw has enough time to get ready for the season.

John Grabow (shoulder) could return to game action by Tuesday.

He's been sidelined with a sore shoulder in recent days, but he's scheduled to test it out in a side session Saturday. It's possible Grabow's comeback from knee surgery has forced him to alter his mechanics to the point where hurt his shoulder, but at this point it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.

John Grabow faced hitters Sunday for the first time since season-ending knee surgery last June 28.

Grabow enters the spring with no restrictions, but he will wear a brace on his left knee this season. "I'm used to it and I don't even know it's there any more," he said. "Can I pitch without it? I'm not going to take that chance."

Cubs GM Jim Hendry said John Grabow will most likely not need knee surgery to repair a torn MCL and might even pitch an inning before the season ends.

It seems unlikely that he'll pitch again. Grabow is under contract for $4.8 million next season, and there's no reason for the Cubs to risk him damaging his knee further with a relief appearance.

Cubs transferred LHP John Grabow from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Grabow was moved in order to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. The left-hander is done for the season due to a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee and may ultimately opt for surgery.

Grabow was diagnosed with a torn medial collateral ligament last week, so now that his season is over, he is currently considering his options. The 31-year-old left-hander was examined by Cubs orthopedic specialist Stephen Gryzlo on Monday. He should arrive at a decision relatively soon.

Grabow was all set to begin a rehab assignment when he felt a "pop" in his knee on Monday. He turned in a 7.36 ERA over 28 outings this season.

John Grabow (knee) will leave for Arizona Saturday to throw several simulated games at the team's spring training facility.

The left-hander will then be sent to either Double-A Tennessee or Triple-A Iowa for several rehab appearances. Manager Lou Pinella says that Grabow, who has been out since late June with a knee injury, could be activated during the team's next homestand, which runs from August 16-22.

Grabow was placed on the disabled list at the end of June with a left knee sprain and Cubs manager Lou Piniella said last week that the left-handed reliever would miss three weeks to a month. James Russell is filling in for Grabow, who had a 7.36 ERA in 28 outings at the time of his injury.
