Casey Kotchman - 1B - Marlins

Marlins transferred 1B Casey Kotchman from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot for the newly-promoted Derek Dietrich on the active roster. Kotchman, currently sidelined with a strained left hamstring, will not be eligible to return until the first week of June.

Casey Kotchman (hamstring) is feeling better but remains a couple weeks away from returning to action.

Kotchman has been out since early April with a strained left hamstring. The Marlins will continue to use Joe Mahoney at first base for the time being.

Marlins placed 1B Casey Kotchman on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 4, with a strained left hamstring.

Kotchman is expected to be sidelined until late April. Greg Dobbs will handle first base while he's out.

Casey Kotchman (hamstring) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday.

Kotchman suffered a left hamstring strain in Wednesday night's game against the Nationals. Greg Dobbs is filling in for him at first base on Thursday and could keep that starting gig for the next two or three weeks.

Casey Kotchman has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and is considered day-to-day.

As we know with hamstrings, "day-to-day" has the potential to quickly turn into "week-to-week." Greg Dobbs will handle first base while Kotchman is on the shelf.

Casey Kotchman - 1B - Marlins

Casey Kotchman left Wednesday's game with a left hamstring injury.

Kotchman grabbed the hamstring and fell to the ground as he crossed first base after grounding into a double play. He was able to walk off the field on his own, but with hamstrings a DL stint is always possible, if not probable. The Marlins figure to use Greg Dobbs at first base in his absence.

Casey Kotchman - 1B - Marlins

Marlins purchased the contract of 1B Casey Kotchman from Triple-A New Orleans.

He'll be the starting first baseman for the first couple months while Logan Morrison is out. Kotchman batted just .229/.280/.333 last season with the Indians, but he's worthy of rostering in NL-only formats.

Casey Kotchman was informed by the Marlins that he will make the Opening Day roster.

It has become increasingly apparent in recent days, but the Marlins made it official on Tuesday. Kotchman has enjoyed a solid spring and should see the majority of the starts at first base until Logan Morrison is ready to return from knee surgery. He's a decent short-term play in NL-only leagues.

Casey Kotchman - 1B - Marlins

Playing with a lacerated finger, Casey Kotchman hit a grand slam Tuesday in the Marlins' 7-5 win over the Mets.

The slam came off Jenrry Mejia. It was Kotchman's spring debut after he injured the finger eight days ago. He may be the Marlins' Opening Day first baseman with Logan Morrison still recovering from knee surgery.

Casey Kotchman will make his Grapefruit League debut Tuesday.

Kotchman needed four stitches to his left ring finger earlier this week. The injury appears to be behind him at this point and shouldn't be an issue going forward. Kotchman signed a minor league deal with the Marlins this offseason and is competing for an Opening Day bench spot.

Kotchman sliced his left ring finger early on in camp but was able to test it out with a couple of at-bats in a simulated game on Sunday. He's competing for an Opening Day bench spot.

Kotchman sliced his left ring finger earlier this week when he ran into a pop-up machine. He required four stitches and is already doing better, but he may need a few days before he's ready to play in a game.

Casey Kotchman sliced his left ring finger on a pop fly machine Monday afternoon in Marlins camp.

Kotchman needed four stitches but should be back in action within the next couple of days. The 29-year-old first baseman signed a minor league contract with the Fish earlier this month and is hoping to win a bench spot.

Marlins signed 1B Casey Kotchman to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The Marlins are moving Logan Morrison to first base this season, but he's recovering from knee surgery and might not be ready for Opening Day. Kotchman will offer protection at the position and then could stick around in a bench role when LoMo is healthy. The soon-to-be 30-year-old batted just .229/.280/.333 for the Indians last season.

He's been sidelined since the end of spring training with inflammation in his right shoulder. He'll need a few rehab starts to get fully stretched out, but could join the Marlins rotation in early June if all goes well. May 24
	3	Kevin Slowey Sidelined Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain. The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, so it's evidently a minor strain. He will be reevaluated on Thursday before it's determined whether he can make his next start. Slowey was pitching well Wednesday before getting hurt, tossing five innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while recording six strikeouts. May 22
