Camp takes the spot of Jonathan Pettibone on the active roster, who was demoted to Triple-A after a lousy start against the Rockies on Friday. The 38-year-old Camp appeared in five games in at Lehigh Valley, posting a 3.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 4/3 K/BB ratio in six innings. He'll work in middle relief.

Phillies reassigned RHP Shawn Camp to minor league camp.

Camp, a non-roster invitee this spring, allowed just one run with a 7/0 K/BB ratio over 8 1/3 innings during Grapefruit League action. However, it wasn't enough for him to win a bullpen spot.
Mar 29 - 11:54 AM

Phillies signed RHP Shawn Camp to a minor league contract.

The deal presumably includes a spring training invite. Camp, who turns 38 next week, owns a 4.40 ERA over 10 seasons in the majors and appeared in 26 games with the Cubs this past season. He'll compete for a bullpen spot.

Cubs designated RHP Shawn Camp for assignment.

Camp pitched well for the Cubs last season and entered this year as a setup man. He pitched terribly, though, perhaps in part because of his overuse last season, posting a 7.04 ERA over 26 appearances. Someone will take a shot on him as a middle reliever if he refuses an assignment to Triple-A.

Shawn Camp took a blown save in the ninth and a loss in the 10th Sunday against the Giants.

Camp got the first two outs in a one-run game in the ninth, then gave up a homer to Hunter Pence. The Cubs sent him back out for the 10th anyway, and he surrendered three more runs to take the loss. The ugly outing could put him behind James Russell in line for save chances.
