Mets released LHP Chuck James.
James, 30, didn't pitch poorly for Triple-A Buffalo, posting a 4.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 22/9 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings, but the Mets decided they'd rather have Chris Schwinden back. He should be able to catch on elsewhere. Thu, Jul 5, 2012 02:09:00 PM

Mets reassigned LHP Chuck James to minor league camp.

James signed a non-guaranteed minor league deal with the Mets back in mid-December. The lefty never stood much of a chance of cracking the Opening Day roster.

Mets signed LHP Chuck James to a minor league contract.

James appeared in eight games with the Twins this past season, posting an ugly 6.10 ERA over 10 1/3 innings. However, the 30-year-old southpaw enjoyed more success at the Triple-A level, compiling an impressive 2.30 ERA and 67/27 K/BB ratio over 62 2/3 innings as a reliever. The former Brave will likely function as organizational depth.

Twins sent LHP Chuck James outright to Triple-A Rochester.

James was terrific for Rochester this season, holding a 2.30 ERA and 9.6 K/9 over 62 2/3 innings. He didn't experience the same level of success with the Twins, however, posting a 6.10 ERA over 10 1/3 innings.

Twins designated LHP Chuck James for assignment.

James posted a 6.10 ERA over 10 1/3 innings with the big-league Twins this season. The 29-year-old southpaw is likely to wind up back in the organization eventually.

Twins optioned LHP Chuck James to Triple-A Rochester.

He was sent out to make room for Matt Tolbert on the active roster. James has a 6.10 ERA and 8/4 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings in two stints with the Twins this season.

Twins recalled LHP Chuck James from Triple-A Rochester.

The former Braves prospect was seldom-used during his last stint with the Twins, tossing five scoreless innings over four appearances while striking out two and walking two. The 29-year-old lefty has a chance to stick with the Twins if he pitches well.

Twins optioned LHP Chuck James to Triple-A Rochester.

He was sent down to make room for Glen Perkins on the active roster. James was seldom-used during his time with the Twins, tossing five scoreless innings over four appearances while striking out two and walking two.

Twins purchased the contract of LHP Chuck James from Triple-A Rochester.

The 29-year-old lefty will take Joe Nathan's place on the Twins' 25-man roster after elbow inflammation sent him to the disabled list on Saturday. James has been very effective in 28 2/3 innings of work for Rochester this season, posting a 1.57 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. He last appeared in the major leagues in 2008 as a member of the Braves.

Twins signed LHP Chuck James to a minor league contract.

The former Braves prospect finished the 2010 season at the Nationals' Triple-A club in Syrcause, New York, where he posted a 3.92 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over five starts. He could see time in Minnesota as a long reliever or emergency starter, but this signing was mostly about organizational depth.

Nationals signed LHP Chuck James to a minor league contract.

James underwent rotator cuff and labrum surgery in September 2008 and missed all of last season. Because of his extreme flyball tendencies -- and the Nationals wide-open rotation -- Washington makes a lot of sense as a landing place. James finished '08 with a 2-5 record and a 9.10 ERA in seven starts with the Braves and was promptly non-tendered.

Braves non-tendered LHP Chuck James.

James underwent rotator cuff and labrum surgery in September that's going to cost him at least the first half of 2009. The Braves had soured on him before that, so he may continue his rehab with another team. Given his extreme flyball tendencies, he'd make a lot of sense in San Diego.

Chuck James underwent surgery Friday to repair a tear in his rotator cuff and some fraying of the labrum.

James is hoping to return for the second half of the 2009 season. He finished '08 with a 2-5 record and a 9.10 ERA in seven starts.
Sat, Sep 13, 2008 09:31:00 AM

Braves optioned LHP Chuck James to Triple-A Richmond.

James took losses in both of his starts after being recalled, so the Braves have decided to keep Charlie Morton over him with Tom Glavine coming back. James is now 2-5 with a 9.10 ERA in seven starts this season.

In his return to the Braves on Friday night, Chuck James surrendered six earned runs and walked four over just 2 2/3 innings.

It was James' first major league start in 2 1/2 months, but he certainly didn't look ready for it. He was all over the strike zone and served up two big homers to Prince Fielder and Mike Cameron. He now has a 2-4 record with a 9.47 ERA for the Braves this season. If he's given another shot next week, it will be against the Giants.
