Mariners signed RHP Justin Germano to a minor league contract.
Germano appeared in two games with the Rangers this past season, but spent the majority of the year in the minors. The 32-year-old has a lot of experience and is a worthwhile arm to have around, even though he's likely to begin the year in Triple-A. Dec 5 - 4:35 PM

The move gives the Rangers a fresh arm for their bullpen. Germano had a 3.41 ERA and 23/5 K/BB ratio in 37 innings over six starts in Triple-A, but owns a 5.29 ERA in the majors. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Justin Germano tossed three scoreless innings in relief on Wednesday against the Rockies.

Germano will serve as organizational depth for the Rangers. Outings like Wednesday's, in which he allowed three hits and struck out three, may help give him a leg up if the Rangers need a substitute during the season.
