Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Justin Germano from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Germano has a 6.64 ERA in four starts with Toronto's Triple-A affiliate, so it's not a deserved promotion. The 30-year-old right-hander will serve as bullpen depth.

Justin Germano has elected free agency.

Germano was outrighted off the Cubs' 40-man roster late last week. The 30-year-old right-hander owns an ugly 5.27 ERA in the big leagues and will look to get a spring training invite somewhere.

Cubs sent RHP Justin Germano outright to Triple-A Iowa.

Germano, 32, is strictly organizational depth. He was acquired from the Red Sox for cash considerations earlier this season. Right-hander Blake Parker (elbow) has also been removed from the 40-man roster.

Justin Germano was hammered for seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Germano admitted after the game that he has simply run of out of steam. The 30-year-old right-hander will finish up with a 6.20 ERA and 1.54 WHIP in 69 2/3 innings.

Justin Germano walked five batters while allowing three runs and three hits over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Reds.

Germano was unscored upon in the first five innings but was removed after walking the first three batters of the sixth. He then watched Manny Corpas give up a bases-clearing double to Ryan Hanigan. Germano has now lost six straight starts, and his ERA and WHIP sit at 6.17 and 1.44, respectively. He’ll face the Cardinals this weekend.

Justin Germano struck out eight and didn’t allow an earned run over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

An error by catcher Steve Clevenger in the third inning led to the Astros’ lone tally against the right-hander. The eight punchouts matched a career high for the junkballer. Germano holds an ugly 6.24 ERA and 1.43 WHIP this season, but with the Cubs lacking options, he’ll get another chance next week against the Pirates.

Justin Germano was hammered again in Thursday’s loss to the Nationals, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on seven hits over his four innings of work.

Germano walked two and struck out two in the game. Kurt Suzuki belted a three-run homer in the second inning, and the Nats added another three-spot in the fourth to finish the damage. He’s been nothing short of terrible over his last four starts, posting an 0-4 record, 11.09 ERA and 1.93 WHIP. With the Cubs short on alternatives, he’ll likely remain in the rotation, but shouldn’t be started in any format. He’ll look to turn things around when he takes on the Astros in Houston on Tuesday.

Justin Germano was treated rudely by the Brewers Monday, getting blasted for five runs on 10 hits over just five innings of work.

He struck out four and didn’t walk anyone but also served up four extra-base hits, including a two-run homer to Aramis Ramirez. Germano has now been rocked in consecutive starts, putting his rotation spot in danger. The Cubs lack options, though, so he’ll probably get another shot this weekend against the Giants.

Justin Germano was smashed for seven runs on eight hits and a walk over just 4 2/3 innings in Monday’s loss to the Brewers.

Germano took a 3-1 lead into the fifth, but then the wheels promptly fell off, as he and reliever Jeff Beliveau combined to allowed eight runs, with five hits and six runs coming with two outs. The right-hander had been pretty solid for the Cubs, allowing two or fewer runs in three of his first four starts, but he’s finished the sixth inning just once. He’ll get the Rockies at home next.

Justin Germano pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs in defeating the Astros on Wednesday.

Germano is 2-2 with a 3.91 ERA in 25 1/3 innings since joining the Cubs. He'll probably have a two-start week coming up next week, facing the Brewers in Milwaukee and the Rockies at home. There's very little upside here, but NL-only leaguers can take advantage of the matchups.

Justin Germano gave up six runs -- four earned -- in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

The Cubs committed three errors while Germano was in the game and then two more in the sixth to score the lone runner he left on base. Between the poor defense and the crazy wind at Wrigley, there's no way the loss today can be held against Germano.
