Indians designated RHP Greg Aquino for assignment.

Aquino went 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 10 relief appearances (16 innings) for the Indians this season. The journeyman right-hander may draw a little interest from clubs desperate for middle relief depth.

Indians purchased the contract of RHP Greg Aquino from Triple-A Columbus.

A journeyman, Aquino will try to stick in Cleveland. The Indians are being aggressive about finding a bullpen that works, so he won't have a long leash.

According to Anthony Castrovince, the Indians are bringing RHP Greg Aquino to the majors.

Aquino is part of the constant revolving door in Cleveland as the Indians try to find pieces that fit. Aquino has 72 walks and 132 strikeouts in 138 1/3 career innings, the most recent coming with the Orioles. This year in Triple-A, he battled shoulder issues but allowed just one run on one hit over eight innings. The 31-year old has always been able to throw hard, but never able to put it together. A hot start will keep him in the majors.

Indians signed RHP Greg Aquino to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Aquino, who was talked about as a potential closer for Baltimore last season, ended up allowing 13 runs in 9 1/3 innings before being let go at the end of August. He'll be a long shot candidate for a spot in Cleveland's bullpen next spring if healthy. That he's walked six batters in an inning during his two appearances in the DWL suggests that he might not be.

Orioles activated RHP Greg Aquino from the 15-day disabled list and designated him for assignment.

The 30-year-old has allowed 13 runs in 9 1/3 innings this season, and has already cleared waivers once this season.

Orioles placed RHP Greg Aquino on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 13, with a left hamstring strain.

Aquino had allowed three runs in three innings since being called up on July 5. It's not much of a loss.

Orioles purchased the contract of RHP Greg Aquino from Triple-A Norfolk.

Aquino gets another chance after amassing a 2.45 ERA and a 29/6 K/BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings for Norfolk. He had a 14.21 ERA in six relief appearances for Baltimore during the first month of the season.

Orioles sent RHP Greg Aquino outright to Triple-A Norfolk.

Aquino had little trouble clearing waivers after amassing a 14.21 ERA in six appearances for Baltimore.

Orioles designated RHP Greg Aquino for assignment.

Aquino, the favorite to close for the Orioles before George Sherrill arrived, had a 14.21 ERA in six appearances this season.

Making his first appearance in 12 days, Greg Aquino walked three and hit a batter while getting just one out on Sunday.

He allowed two runs, taking his ERA to 14.73. This is the pitcher the Orioles likely would have used as their closer had they not acquired George Sherrill. It's past time for them to send him through waivers. His command problems certainly won't improve while he's throwing once every two weeks.

Greg Aquino threw two scoreless innings out of the pen to pick up the win Friday as the Orioles came from behind to beat the Mets 4-3.

Aquino has a 2.19 ERA in 12 1/3 innings. It looks like he'll be the No. 2 man in the Baltimore pen at the start of the year, making him a sleeper candidate for saves.

Orioles president Andy MacPhail has indicated that Greg Aquino is an in-house option at closer if the team can’t sign a veteran replacement for Chris Ray.

Aquino has a career ERA of 4.88 in the NL and he's battled elbow problems each of the three years. If he enters camp as the favorite for saves in Baltimore, it will say an awful lot about the team's chances this year.

Orioles claimed RHP Greg Aquino off waivers from the Brewers.

It appeared likely that Aquino would be non-tendered by the Brewers, but the team signed him to a non-guaranteed $500,000 contract on Wednesday, even though he looked like a long shot to make the team. The Orioles will inherit that deal here, and Aquino should be happy to go to a team in much greater need of bullpen help. The command isn't there for him to be a major asset, but he could be decent enough in middle relief.

Brewers agreed to terms with RHP Greg Aquino on a one-year, $500,000 contract.

Aquino avoids being non-tendered by agreeing to a split contract that would pay him $176,000 in the minors. We're surprised he didn't prefer to take his chances elsewhere, as he's going to be a long shot to make the Brewers. At least he did get a nice minor league salary in the package.
