Brendan Harris homered for the second consecutive game, helping to lead the Angels to a 7-5 victory over the White Sox on Friday.
Harris, filling in for the injured Erick Aybar, has certainly provided a spark to the Angels' lineup over the last two games. He's now hitting .288 with three homers and six RBI in only 66 at-bats on the season. He'll continue to draw starts at shortstop while Aybar is sidelined. May 10 - 11:57 PM

Brendan Harris hit his first big-league homer since 2010 off the Twins' Kevin Correia on Monday.

Ironically, his previous homer came for the Twins against the Angels in a game just over three years ago. Harris is playing shortstop for the Angels with Erick Aybar out, and he's now 4-for-15 on the season.

Angels purchased the contract of INF Brendan Harris from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Harris, 32, hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010, but he'll be part of the Halos' bench. His playing time figures to be limited, however.

Angels signed INF Brendan Harris to a minor league contract.

Harris had a nice year at Triple-A with the Rockies in 2012, but he hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010. He'll begin 2013 at Triple-A Salt Lake.

Rockies signed INF Brendan Harris to a minor league contract.

Harris spent all of the 2011 season at Triple-A in the Orioles organization, producing an ugly .225/.282/.331 batting line with 10 homers. The Rockies will have a competition in spring training for the third base job, but Harris almost surely will be on the outside looking in.

Orioles reassigned INF Brendan Harris to minor league camp.

Harris was pretty much locked into a utility infield job as recently as last week, but he had a growth removed from his back and it sidetracked his progress. The Orioles will have to hope that he remains in the organization and eventually climbs his way back up.

Brendan Harris will miss the next couple of days after having a growth removed from his back.

Nasty stuff, but the procedure was minor. Harris is pretty much locked into a big league utility infield job and should be fine by the start of the regular season.

Brendan Harris picked up his fourth double of the spring Monday versus the Red Sox.

Harris is 5-for-15 with four RBI. If Felix Pie and Cesar Izturis are the locks for the Baltimore bench, that would leave just one spot for Harris, Nolan Reimold, Robert Andino, Jake Fox or Nick Green. Harris is an underdog in that mix, but he could impress another team with his play.

Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail has confirmed that Brendan Harris will have to play his way onto the team with a good spring.

"We definitely can have room for both," MacPhail said. "Harris can play third. He can play other positions, but he pretty much has to make the team out of spring training. He’ll be in a competition with [Robert] Andino and others." In addition to Andino, the newly signed Nick Green compete with Harris for a utility spot.

Orioles acquired INF Brendan Harris, SS J.J. Hardy and cash considerations from the Twins for RHPs Brett Jacobson and James Hoey.

Harris, 30, batted .157/.233/.213 with one home run and four RBI over 120 plate appearances this past season and didn't really fit in the team's plans anymore. He'll function as a utility infielder on his new club.

Twins sent 3B Brendan Harris outright to Triple-A Rochester.

Harris, 29, was given ample time to establish himself as a useful utility infielder this season in Minnesota, but he rattled off a .157/.233/.213 batting line in 108 at-bats. If he builds some confidence in the minors, perhaps the Twins will give him a shot later this summer.

Brendan Harris went 0-for-4 on Tuesday, leaving him 1-for-17 in his last five games and dropping his average to .186.

Harris hasn't capitalized on J.J. Hardy's absence, so he'll head back to the bench later this week. With the way he's played over the last year, it's a good thing he has the job security of a two-year, $3.2 million contract.

In his first start of the year, Brendan Harris hit a two-run homer off Joel Pineiro and walked Thursday against the Angels.

The Twins were having an awfully difficult time getting Pineiro's sinker into the air until Harris went and knocked a pitch over the left-field wall in the fifth, breaking a 1-1 tie. As thoroughly as Harris outplayed Nick Punto this spring, he clearly deserves to be starting more than once every four games. However, he might be right back out there Friday after Orlando Hudson got hurt tonight.

Brendan Harris went 2-for-4 with two RBI as the Twins topped the Mets 7-3 on Friday.

Harris is 6-for-11 with a homer and seven RBI in his last four games, giving him a .364/.400/.636 line for the spring. Nick Punto, meanwhile, is just 2-for-17. It looked like Punto would probably get most of the playing time at third base early on for the Twins, but if this keeps up, Harris could win the job.

According to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Twins signed shortstop Brendan Harris to a two-year, $3.2 million contract.

Arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter, he could take home an additional $650,000 in incentives over the length of the contract. Harris, 29, batted .261/.310/.362 with six home runs and 37 RBI last season and figures to be used all around the infield again this season.
