The Diamondbacks have sold the rights of RHP Yhency Brazoban to the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League.

Jon Paul Morosi of reports that Yhency Brazoban is on the verge of leaving the Diamondbacks to to sign with Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan.

Brazoban was sent outright to Triple-A Reno last week after allowing four runs on eights over six innings with the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 3.22 ERA and 42/14 K/BB ratio over 36 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

Brazoban signed a minor league contract with Arizona in early June after requesting his release from the Rangers. He's posted strong numbers this season at Triple-A, but the 30-year-old hasn't pitched in a big league game since 2008 and is unlikely to have much success.

Brazoban requested his release from the Rangers on Thursday after posting a quality 3.42 ERA and 31/11 K/BB ratio over 26 1/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock but failing to earn a promotion to the major leagues. The D'Backs could use him right away in middle relief, but the right-hander will report to Triple-A Reno initially.

Yhency Brazoban has been moved to big league camp.

The Rangers inked Brazoban to a minor league contract in December but did not include an invitation to spring training at the time. Now they want him to be present, probably for depth reasons. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 6.10 ERA over 10 appearances for the Mets' Triple-A affiliate last season and remains a longshot for a big league roster spot with Texas.

Brazoban, now 30 years old, began the 2010 season in the Mexican League and finished the year with Triple-A Buffalo in the Mets organization, posting a 6.10 ERA over 10 appearances. Brazoban, who was assigned to minor league camp earlier this month, just hasn't been able to overcome his arm problems, and his conditioning issues further soured the Dodgers on him. He'll sign a minor league deal elsewhere.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Yhency Brazoban (shoulder) is unlikely to resume throwing in a week as previously expected.

Brazoban had a cortisone shot in his throwing shoulder last week, but it didn't do the trick. Once the "closer of the future" in Los Angeles, he's quickly becoming a longshot for a spot in the Dodgers' bullpen.

Dodgers re-signed RHP Yhency Brazoban to a minor league deal and invited him to spring training.

Brazoban, 28, has struggled with shoulder issues since 2006 and has pitched just 9 2/3 innings in the last three years. He's a long shot to make the Dodgers' bullpen this spring. The club also signed minor league deals with infielders Juan Castro, Hector Luna, and Luis Maza; outfielders Mitch Jones, Val Pasucci; and pitchers Carmen Cali, Brian Mazone, Jacobo Meque, Stephen Randolph, Erick Threets, Travis Chick, Nick DeBarr, Edgar Martinez and Scott Strickland.

Dodgers non-tendered RHP Yhency Brazoban.

Brazoban, once looked at as a potential closer, has battled shoulder problems since returning from Tommy John surgery in 2007 and now looks like a long shot to have much of a career as a reliever. Then again, it could help that the lack of a paycheck will force him to cut back on junk food.

Dodgers recalled RHP Yhency Brazoban from Triple-A Las Vegas and placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a shoulder injury.

There's been no word about what's ailing Brazoban now. He missed last season with a torn labrum, but he returned to the mound this spring and spent a couple of weeks in the majors in May.
