Williams is coming off an ugly year in Chicago, where he posted a 5.40 ERA, 2.32 WHIP and 22/21 K/BB ratio over 25 innings. He's struck out nearly a batter per inning during his 73 2/3 career innings, but he also holds a 6.4 BB/9 rate. He's likely to end up as depth at Triple-A.

Williams is now a minor league free agent. The left-hander posted an awful 5.40 ERA, 22/21 K/BB ratio and 2.32 WHIP over 25 innings in the big league this year before the White Sox finally gave up on him in July.

It's rather amazing that he stuck with the team for this long. Williams had an obscene 5.40 ERA and 2.32 WHIP to go along with an equally ugly 22/21 K/BB ratio over 25 innings. Opposing batters hit .346 against him.

Williams provides the White Sox with a second lefty in the bullpen, but isn't likely to have significant fantasy value. The 33-year-old has a 3.44 ERA in 33 games with Charlotte this season.

Williams, 29, had a 3.49 ERA since being sent down to Colorado Springs. He's more of a middle reliever than a specialist, but that's what the Rockies want.
