RHP Kameron Loe has elected free agency.

He cleared waivers after the Cubs designated him for assignment, but he'll look for a job elsewhere rather than report to Triple-A. Loe has struggled since the beginning of 2012 but has enough of a track record that someone will take a shot on him.

Loe posted a 5.40 ERA in 8 1/3 innings with the Cubs and had a 10.80 ERA in 6 2/3 innings with the Mariners before that. But he could draw interest on waivers.

Loe was designated for assignment last week after allowing 11 hits and eight earned runs in 6 2/3 innings. He had some good times with the Brewers the last three seasons, though, and could wind up being a solid middle reliever.

Loe better not get comfortable in Seattle. He's already surrendered a whopping six homers in 6 2/3 innings of relief work this season.

Mariners purchased the contract of RHP Kameron Loe from Triple-A Tacoma.

Loe signed a minor league contract with the M's in mid-February and pitched his way into a bullpen job this spring. Josh Kinney (rib, shoulder) was placed on the 60-day disabled list to clear a 40-man roster spot.

He still needs to pass a physical. Loe had a 4.61 ERA over 70 appearances with the Brewers last season and will try to win a bullpen spot this spring.

Loe is eligible for arbitration this winter, but the Brewers didn't want to give him a raise after he put up an uninspiring 4.61 ERA over 70 games. They haven't ruled out bringing him back at a reduced salary.

Jose Veras and Manny Parra are also considered non-tender candidates. The Brewers' bullpen figures to look dramatically different next season. Francisco Rodriguez, who made $8 million in 2012, also won't be back.

Kameron Loe (elbow) is available to pitch Monday against the Dodgers.

Loe hasn't pitched since May 23 due to elbow soreness. The 30-year-old right-hander has a 2.86 ERA and 15/7 K/BB ratio in 22 innings of work this season.

Kameron Loe returned to action on Tuesday, surrendering four runs (two earned) on four hits in 1 1/3 innings against the Astros.

He had been on the bereavement list after the death of his grandfather. Loe's return started poorly when he gave up three straight singles, and he also was hurt by an error in the following inning. He now owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.43 WHIP.

He actually landed on the list prior to Saturday's game. Loe is expected to rejoin the Brewers bullpen Monday after attending his grandfather's funeral over the weekend.

Kameron Loe will go on the bereavement list this weekend in order to attend the funeral of his grandfather.

He will miss Saturday's and Sunday's game. The Brewers haven't announced who will take Loe's spot on the roster, but it will likely be Mike McClendon.

The Brewers and RHP Kameron Loe avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.175 million contract.

Loe registered a 3.50 ERA and 61/16 K/BB ratio in 72 innings last season while earning $1.25 million as a second-year arbitration-eligible player. He'll pitch in a set-up capacity again in 2012.
