Cameron Maybin went 3-for-4 with an RBI double against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Maybin's double tied the game in the 11th against Matt Barnes. He's now started four straight games in right field after surprisingly finding himself on the bench the first two games of the season. He's likely to need occasional days off given his lack of durability, but he should definitely be a regular in the Marlins outfield. Apr 3 - 10:58 PM

Date:

Cameron Maybin reached three times Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with a walk.

The Marlins are debating between Maybin and Lewis Brinson for the leadoff spot. Brinson has had the better spring, but Maybin is making up some ground now; he's batting .207/.351/.379 in 29 at-bats.
Mar 20 - 5:17 PM

Cameron Maybin went 0-for-3 on Friday and is hitting .130 in 23 at-bats this spring.

Maybin will be a regular for the Marlins, but still to be determined is whether he'll lead off or bat in the bottom half of the order. He's sporting a .300 OBP right now, compared to .405 for Lewis Brinson. Maybin did have a .383 OBP in 2016, but he finished at .315 last year and is at .321 for his career. He makes the most sense batting seventh, though he'd have a much better chance of helping fantasy teams from the top of the lineup.
Mar 16 - 4:03 PM

Cameron Maybin was scratched from the Marlins' lineup on Saturday due to tightness in his Achilles.

The injury isn't believed to be serious, just the general soreness that pops up early in the spring. Look for Maybin to return to action in a couple of days.
Mar 3 - 9:44 AM

Marlins signed OF Cameron Maybin to a one-year, $3.25 million contract.

The deal also includes some performance-based incentives. Maybin played for the Fish from 2008-2010 after being traded from the Tigers as part of a blockbuster deal that sent Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis to Detroit. The 30-year-old could open the 2018 season as Miami's starting center fielder, allowing youngsters Lewis Brinson and Magneuris Sierra a little more time in the minor leagues. Maybin also played a lot of right field and left field last year between the Angels and Astros. He'll get regular playing time with the Marlins and has the speed and pop to generate meaningful mixed-league fantasy value.
Feb 21 - 9:17 AM

According to Tim Healey of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Marlins have signed free agent outfielder Cameron Maybin.

Maybin has already reported to Marlins camp in Jupiter, Florida, though the deal is presumably still pending a physical. No financial details have been made available. The 30-year-old put up 10 home runs and 33 stolen bases in just 114 games (395 at-bats) last season between the Angels and Astros, and he should have no trouble finding regular playing time in the depleted Miami outfield. There's some intriguing fantasy upside here.
Feb 21 - 8:58 AM

MLB.com's Jon Morosi reports that Cameron Maybin is one of the options the Royals are considering for center field.

Kansas City doesn't seem to think it will be able to afford to retain Lorenzo Cain, but Maybin represents what should be a much cheaper fallback option. The 30-year-old batted .228/.318/.365 with 10 home runs and 33 stolen bases across 114 games for the Angels and Astros this past season.

Cameron Maybin is starting in left field and batting ninth for the Astros in Monday's ALCS Game 3 versus the Yankees.

It will be the first start this postseason for Maybin, who will push Marwin Gonzalez to first base and Yulieski Gurriel to the designated hitter spot. Evan Gattis is getting a start at catcher, while Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran are on the bench against left CC Sabathia. The Astros' full lineup looks like this: George Springer CF, Alex Bregman 3B, Jose Altuve 2B, Carlos Correa SS, Gurriel DH, Gattis C, Gonzalez 1B, Josh Reddick RF, Maybin LF.

Cameron Maybin went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and three runs scored in Tuesday's victory over the Rangers.

Maybin's fourth home run as an Astro came in the sixth inning off of reliever Yohander Mendez. He also had a "little league home run" in the fifth, tripling and scoring on an error, and added his 33rd stolen base of the season in an all-around great fantasy night. Maybin is now tied for the American League lead with his 33 steals.

Cameron Maybin hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to lead the Astros to a 5-3 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Maybin one-upped last night's go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning. He has three homers in 16 at-bats since the Astros plucked him off the waiver wire. It's getting increasingly difficult to see how he couldn't have been of some use to the Angels this month.

Cameron Maybin went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's game in Seattle.

The veteran outfielder hasn't collected many hits since coming over from the Angels earlier in the month, but he is making his hits count. He is 3-for-14 (.214) through five games, but he has a pair of homers with six RBI.

Cameron Maybin hit his first Astros homer in Sunday's victory over the Mets.

It was a three-run shot in the bottom of the third inning, part of a five-run frame for the host Astros. Maybin won't get as much regular playing time in Houston as he did in Anaheim, but the dynamic 30-year-old outfielder is another nice piece for that first-place roster.

Astros claimed OF Cameron Maybin off waivers from the Angels.

It was a revocable waiver claim, so Anaheim gets nothing in return but Houston will be on the hook for whatever remains of Maybin's $9 million salary for 2017. The 30-year-old outfielder should see starts in Houston against left-handed pitchers, but this is mostly about beefing up the bench for the postseason. Maybin is tied with new teammate Jose Altuve for the American League lead in stolen bases.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Astros have acquired Cameron Maybin from the Angels.

That'll open left field for Justin Upton, whom the Angels just acquired from the Tigers. Maybin, 30, was batting .235/.333/.351 with six home runs and 29 stolen bases through 93 games this season with Anaheim. He is scheduled to become a free agent this winter. No word yet on the Angels' return.

Cameron Maybin is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

Maybin is hitting just .224/.309/.245 since returning from the disabled list and has only started 11 of 19 games, as it seems pretty clear that his right knee still isn't 100 percent. Ben Revere is in left field and in the leadoff spot Sunday.
