Cameron Maybin finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases to lead the Angels to a 5-2 win over the Marlins on Saturday.
Maybin had a single and a triple -- his first triple this season -- in the game, and he twice victimized Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto for stolen bases. He's now got 12 steals in 13 tries, second-most in the American League. He's hitting .247/.369/.380 overall, including batting .280 in the month of May. May 27 - 10:00 PM

Cameron Maybin (knee) said Friday that he expects to return to the lineup Saturday.

Maybin is sitting out Friday after exiting Thursday's contest with a sore right knee, but it's not considered to be a big deal. He's hitting .240/.362/.363 with three homers and 10 steals this season.
May 26 - 4:11 PM

Cameron Maybin left Thursday's game against the Rays with soreness in his right knee.

Maybin was 1-for-3 before getting replaced in the bottom of the sixth inning. Hopefully it's nothing too serious because he's been in a terrific groove offensively over the last 10 days. Ben Revere took over in center field. Mike Trout started the game at DH.
May 25 - 3:54 PM

Cameron Maybin went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks and a steal to lead the Angels past the Rays 3-2 on Monday.

Maybin is 10-for-11 in steals this year. For that reason, he has mixed-league value as long as he continues to play regularly and hit somewhere near the top of the order for the Angels.
May 22 - 11:46 PM

Cameron Maybin finished 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and an RBI in Saturday's game at N.Y. Mets.

Maybin has done well at the top of manager Mike Scioscia's lineup lately. He is 9-for-16 with four runs scored, three RBI and four walks while posting just one strikeout over the past four outings. Maybin has always had plenty of talent, but he has had trouble staying healthy. As long as he is on the field he is a solid option in AL-only fantasy play and most deeper mixed formats.
May 21 - 12:03 AM

Cameron Maybin went 5-for-6 with three doubles and two RBI from the leadoff spot Tuesday against the White Sox.

The last double, a popup just over the shortstop's head that the left fielder fell down on, was particularly cheap, but Maybin was due for some luck after entering the night with a .180 average. He's 9-for-9 in steals this year, so he's worth a try in mixed leagues now that he's going to be leading off in Yunel Escobar's place.
May 17 - 2:20 AM

Cameron Maybin went 0-for-1 with three walks and three steals in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

Maybin stole two bases off Justin Verlander and one off Francisco Rodriguez. He is up to nine for the season. A need for speed is just about the only the veteran outfielder has going for him thus far, as he is slashing just .185/.307/.250 over the course of 108 at-bats.
May 14 - 6:58 PM

Cameron Maybin went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the A's.

Not much doing here with the bat, but Maybin did manage his sixth steal of the season after reaching first base on a single. The veteran outfielder has posted double-digit thefts in each of the past two seasons and should be able to achieve that feat without much issue in 2017 so long as he can maintain his health.
May 10 - 7:22 PM

Cameron Maybin went 0-for-5 against the A's on Monday, leaving him with a .200 average.

Maybin it hitless in 11 at-bats the last three days, and his OPS has fallen into Ben Revere territory (.568 to .551). Revere did have three hits, including two doubles, in this one, so it might be that he'll begin seeing more time in left field again.
May 9 - 1:35 AM

Cameron Maybin went 3-for-4 with three RBI against the A's on Wednesday.

A rare sign of life from an Angels left fielder. Maybin had just two RBI in 57 at-bats this season before knocking in three tonight. He's batting .230/.319/.311.
Apr 27 - 2:31 AM

Cameron Maybin singled, walked and stole a base against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Maybin isn't exactly running away with the left field job, but since Ben Revere has hit even worse, Maybin should continue getting the majority of the playing time. He's sporting a .591 OPS in 54 at-bats, while Revere is at .413 in 31 at-bats.
Apr 25 - 1:44 AM

Back in the lineup after sitting out a pair of games, Cameron Maybin went 0-for-4 against the Astros on Tuesday.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia has been tweaking and tweaking, but he made the decision tonight to go back to his Opening Day lineup, and the offense came through with a decent night in a 5-2 win. Maybin is hitting just .189/.268/.297 in 37 at-bats so far, but Scioscia's preferred alternative, Ben Revere, has been even worse, hitting .185/.214/.259 in in 27 at-bats. The two could continue alternating starts until someone heats up.
Apr 19 - 1:18 AM

Cameron Maybin is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

It's a regular day off. Ben Revere is in left field. The Angels are also going with Carlos Perez over Martin Maldonado at catcher.

Cameron Maybin hit his first homer Friday off the Mariners' Yovani Gallardo.

Ben Revere ran circles around Maybin in spring training, but the Angels opted to stay the course with Maybin as their primary left fielder. He's opened the regular season 4-for-15, with all four of his hits going for extra bases (the other three are all doubles).
Apr 8 - 1:49 AM

Cameron Maybin was scratched from the Angels' Cactus League lineup on Monday due to "minor right shoulder fatigue."

Maybin has been brutalized by injuries over the last several seasons, but this doesn't sound like too big of a deal. The 29-year-old outfielder was acquired from the Tigers in early November for 23-year-old right-hander Victor Alcantara. Maybin batted .315/.383/.418 with four home runs, 43 RBI, and 15 stolen bases over 94 games for Detroit in 2016.
