Diamondbacks acquired RHP Gaby Hernandez from the White Sox for cash considerations.

The deal was reported on Monday night, but the specifics weren't known until now. Hernandez, 25, had a 7.69 ERA over his first 11 starts with Triple-A Charlotte this season. He's nothing more than organizational depth at this point.

Royals traded RHP Gaby Hernandez to the White Sox in exchange for cash considerations.

Hernandez was a decent prospect way back when, but even though he's still just 24, he hasn't progressed as hoped. The owner of a 4.91 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 144 2/3 innings for Triple-A Omaha last season, he'll give the Sox some depth at Triple-A.

Royals sent RHP Gaby Hernandez outright to Triple-A Omaha.

Hernandez had been designated for assignment last week. He posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 144 2/3 innings for Omaha this past season. The former Mets and Marlins prospect is still just 24, but his development has stalled in the upper minors.

Royals optioned RHP Gaby Hernandez to Triple-A Omaha.

Hernandez was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox earlier this month. The 24-year-old righty punched his ticket for the minors after giving up three runs on five hits in just one inning of work against the Rockies on Sunday. The former Mets' farmhand was 10-9 with a 5.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 26 starts with Triple-A Tacoma (Seattle) last season.

Royals claimed RHP Gaby Hernandez off waivers from the Red Sox.

Hernandez, 24, was designated for assignment this week in order to make room for the recently-claimed Casey Fein. The Royals are Hernandez's third team in the past four weeks, as the Red Sox claimed Hernandez off waivers from the Mariners in February. He was 10-9 with a 5.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 26 starts with Triple-A Tacoma (Seattle) last season. Though he has regressed over the past two seasons, there's still some hope that he could make it as a fifth starter in the majors.

Red Sox designated RHP Gaby Hernandez for assignment.

Boston needed the roster spot for the recently-claimed Casey Fien. Hernandez didn't even make it a month in the organization after being claimed off waivers from the Mariners in February. The 24-year-old right-hander posted a 5.23 ERA in 146 1/3 innings for Triple-A Tacoma in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League last season, but has a 4.27 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over six minor league seasons.

Hernandez was designated for assignment by the Red Sox last week. The 24-year-old right-hander posted a 5.23 ERA in 146 1/3 innings for Triple-A Tacoma in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League last season, but has a 4.27 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over six minor league seasons.

Mariners outrighted RHP Gaby Hernandez to Triple-A Tacoma.

He was designated for assignment last weekend, but drew no interest on the waiver wire. Hernandez was acquired from the Marlins for Arthur Rhodes at the 2008 trade deadline. The 24-year-old posted a 5.23 ERA in 146 1/3 innings at Triple-A last year, and will return for another year of service in Tacoma.

Mariners designated RHP Gaby Hernandez for assignment.

The Mariners needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Ryan Garko. Hernandez was acquired from the Marlins for Arthur Rhodes at the 2008 trade deadline. The 24-year-old posted a 5.23 ERA in 146 1/3 innings at Triple-A last year.

Mariners acquired RHP Gaby Hernandez from the Marlins for LHP Arthur Rhodes.

A nice pickup for the Mariners. Hernandez's stock is down over the last year, and he was recently demoted to Double-A after going 2-8 with a 7.24 ERA at Triple-A Albuquerque. Still, he's just 22 and his struggles may have been related to an abominal strain that limited him in April and May. He could yet make it as a fourth or fifth starter. The Mariners will put him in either Double- or Triple-A.

Gaby Hernandez returned to the mound at Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday and allowed two runs in five innings.

Hernandez hadn't pitched since April 22 due to a strained intercostal muscle. He has a 6.92 ERA in five starts.

Marlins reassigned RHP Gaby Hernandez, 1B Tagg Bozied, RHP Marcus Gwyn, C Brett Hayes and LHP Randall Williams to minor league camp.

Hernandez had a decent enough spring, posting a 4.15 ERA in 13 innings, but he's still clearly fallen behind Chris Volstad on the depth chart. He'll be a part of the rotation at Triple-A Albuquerque.
Tue, Mar 18, 2008 04:01:00 PM

Gaby Hernandez shut out the Red Sox for three innings as a Marlins split-squad prevailed 5-2 on Saturday.

Hernandez has allowed one run in seven innings. The 21-year-old will need at least Sergio Mitre to open the season on the disabled list if he's going to have a shot at a rotation spot. Realistically, he's looking at a stint in Triple-A and maybe a midseason debut in the majors.

Gaby Hernandez walked seven while pitching six innings of no-hit ball Friday for Double-A Carolina.

Not like him at all. Hernandez had walked 12 in eight starts entering the night. The former Mets prospect is currently 2-4 with a 3.93 ERA. He's got a chance of seeing time with the Marlins later this season.
