Yankees placed RHP Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff tendinitis.

He must have hurt himself pitching Monday against Seattle. Ben Heller was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the corresponding move. Swarzak has posted an ugly 5.90 ERA in 25 outings this year while allowing 10 homers in only 29 innings of work. It's unclear how much time he'll miss.
Aug 23 - 2:21 PM

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Swarzak had registered a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 43/8 K/BB ratio in 46 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level, working as both a starter and reliever. He'll presumably work in long relief with New York.
Jun 7 - 4:04 PM

Yankees re-assigned RHP Anthony Swarzak to minor league camp.

There were spots to be had in the Yankees' bullpen, but Swarzak probably sealed his fate by getting knocked around for five runs over his last two spring appearances. He'll provide organizational depth.
Mar 31 - 4:39 PM

Yankees signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract.

Swarzak opened the 2015 season with the Indians, but after they sent him to Triple-A outright in May, he opted to sign a contract with the Doosan Bears in the Korean Baseball Organization. He didn't fare particularly well in the KBO, though, holding a 5.26 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 72/30 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander was once viewed as an intriguing prospect--he cracked Baseball America's Top-100 in 2006--but he's a ways removed from that at this point.
Jan 13 - 5:31 PM

Anthony Swarzak has signed with the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Swarzak had a brief stint with the Indians earlier this season, but he has been pitching in Triple-A since being designated for assignment in May. The 29-year-old owns a 4.45 ERA in the majors and ultimately preferred to take an opportunity overseas.

Indians sent RHP Anthony Swarzak outright to Triple-A Columbus.

Indians designated RHP Anthony Swarzak for assignment.

The 29-year-old posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 13/4 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings out of the Indians bullpen. There's a chance that he could attract interest on waivers from teams in search of bullpen depth.

Indians purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Columbus.

Swarzark owns an unappealing career 4.48 ERA and 267/127 K/BB ratio in 439 2/3 major league frames, but the Indians likely his ability to go multiple innings if needed. He's unlikely to be used in high-leverage situations.

Anthony Swarzak has elected free agency.

Swarzak, 29, had a 4.60 ERA and 47/28 K/BB ratio in 86 innings over 46 relief appearances and four starts this past season. He'll find a home somewhere, but it might be on a minor league deal.

Anthony Swarzak was hit hard in a no-decision against the Tigers on Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Anthony Swarzak was roughed up by the Indians Sunday, allowing eight hits and five runs -- three earned -- over 4 1/3 innings in a loss.

Swarzak has had a rough go of it in his recent turn as a starter, as he's given up 11 runs over 8 2/3 innings in his last two starts. Swarzak also walked two and struck out two Sunday. The right-hander now owns a 4.52 ERA and may have to make one more start as the Twins try to get to the end of the season.

Anthony Swarzak is the most likely candidate to start for the Twins on Monday.

The Twins are in need of a starter with Tommy Milone scratched, and Swarzak is the preferred choice. The Twins have to get through three games over the weekend without needing him in long relief first though.
