Anthony Swarzak finally gave up his first runs of the season when Mike Trout took him deep Wednesday.
With his velocity well up, Swarzak had allowed just four hits in 19 2/3 scoreless innings coming into this one. Unfortunately, he gave up hits to all three batters he faced in this one, the last of them being Trout's three-run bomb. May 18 - 2:02 AM

White Sox purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Charlotte.

Swarzak's velocity was up this spring, which helped him nab a bullpen spot. He'll work the middle innings.

Anthony Swarzak's fastball has been clocked on average at nearly 96 mph this spring.

Swarzak was around 93 mph last season with the Yankees as a full-time reliever, but this is easily the hardest the 31-year-old has ever thrown. The righty says the adjustment is a mental rather than physical one, as he's "getting to that age where nothing is guaranteed for me so I'm kind of letting it all out there and I think I found another gear somewhere." Swarzak has a 3.86 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings this spring and has a good shot to make the White Sox' bullpen as a non-roster invitee.

White Sox signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Swarzak had a rough 5.52 ERA in 31 innings (26 appearances) last season out of the Yankees' bullpen. The right-hander will struggle to earn a major league roster spot out of White Sox camp.
Jan 23 - 2:25 PM

Anthony Swarzak has elected to become a free agent.

Swarzak chose free agency over an outright assignment to the minors. The 31-year-old posted a 5.52 ERA in 26 appearances this season and will look for an opportunity elsewhere.

Yankees activated RHP Anthony Swarzak from the 15-day disabled list.

Swarzak missed nearly a month with rotator cuff tendinitis. He'll work mostly in mop-up duty.

Yankees placed RHP Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff tendinitis.

He must have hurt himself pitching Monday against Seattle. Ben Heller was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the corresponding move. Swarzak has posted an ugly 5.90 ERA in 25 outings this year while allowing 10 homers in only 29 innings of work. It's unclear how much time he'll miss.

Yankees purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Swarzak had registered a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 43/8 K/BB ratio in 46 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level, working as both a starter and reliever. He'll presumably work in long relief with New York.

Yankees re-assigned RHP Anthony Swarzak to minor league camp.

There were spots to be had in the Yankees' bullpen, but Swarzak probably sealed his fate by getting knocked around for five runs over his last two spring appearances. He'll provide organizational depth.

Yankees signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract.

Swarzak opened the 2015 season with the Indians, but after they sent him to Triple-A outright in May, he opted to sign a contract with the Doosan Bears in the Korean Baseball Organization. He didn't fare particularly well in the KBO, though, holding a 5.26 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 72/30 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander was once viewed as an intriguing prospect--he cracked Baseball America's Top-100 in 2006--but he's a ways removed from that at this point.

Anthony Swarzak has signed with the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Swarzak had a brief stint with the Indians earlier this season, but he has been pitching in Triple-A since being designated for assignment in May. The 29-year-old owns a 4.45 ERA in the majors and ultimately preferred to take an opportunity overseas.

Swarzak was designated for assignment by the Tribe on May 9 and passed through waivers unclaimed. He'll continue serving as organizational relief depth for Cleveland.

Indians designated RHP Anthony Swarzak for assignment.

The 29-year-old posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 13/4 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings out of the Indians bullpen. There's a chance that he could attract interest on waivers from teams in search of bullpen depth.

Indians purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Columbus.

Swarzark owns an unappealing career 4.48 ERA and 267/127 K/BB ratio in 439 2/3 major league frames, but the Indians likely his ability to go multiple innings if needed. He's unlikely to be used in high-leverage situations.
