Diamondbacks released RHP Garrett Mock.
Mock signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks last November and went on to post a 6.72 ERA and 1.76 WHIP across 75 innings this season at Triple-A Reno. The 30-year-old right-hander will presumably try to latch on with a new organization. Mon, Aug 19, 2013 11:09:00 AM

Diamondbacks signed RHP Garrett Mock to a minor league contract.

He'll also get a spring training invite. Mock, who was originally drafted by the Diamondbacks, posted a 3.79 ERA and 68/28 K/BB ratio over 61 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level between the Red Sox and Astros. The 29-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors since 2010 as a member of the Nationals and will likely struggle to win a roster spot with the D-Backs.

Mock has spent all year at Triple-A Pawtucket, compiling a 3.33 ERA and 53/23 K/BB ratio over 48 2/3 innings. He's been added to Triple-A Oklahoma City's bullpen.

He has been assigned to minor league camp.

Blue Jays signed RHP Garrett Mock to a minor league contract.

Mock, 28, posted an ugly 6.28 ERA and 32/24 K/BB ratio over 12 starts and four relief appearances this season with Triple-A Syracuse in the Nationals' organization. It's not a surprising destination for the former prospect given that former Nationals scouting director Dana Brown is now working with Toronto.

Nationals sent RHP Garrett Mock outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

Mock was designated for assignment last week as the Nationals made room on their 40-man roster for September call-ups. The 28-year-old right-hander had an ugly 6.28 ERA and 32/24 K/BB ratio over 12 starts and four relief appearances at the Triple-A level this season.

Nationals designated RHP Garrett Mock for assignment.

The Nats needed to do some housecleaning with some of the September call-ups, so Mock was given the boot. The 28-year-old right-hander had an ugly 6.28 ERA and 32/24 K/BB ratio over 12 starts and four relief appearances at the Triple-A level this season.

Nationals optioned RHPs Garrett Mock and Adam Carr to Triple-A Syracuse.

Both came to camp with a shot to win a spot in the Nationals bullpen, and although Carr pitched well (no runs allowed in four innings), Mock was horrendous (9.64 ERA, 1/6 K/BB ratio in 4 2/3 innings). They'll represent right-handed depth at Triple-A.

Garret Mock walked three and was charged with five runs -- one earned -- in two-thirds of an inning against the Cardinals on Thursday.

Mock lost most of 2010 to a cervical spine injury, and he's no longer in the Nationals' rotation picture after breaking camp as the fifth starter last year. At this point, he's probably a long shot to win a spot in middle relief.

Nationals activated RHP Garrett Mock from the 60-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Mock had a 5.14 ERA over five starts during his rehab assignment from a back injury. He'll continue to pitch in the minors, probably until Syracuse's season comes to an end.

Garrett Mock, on the DL since April with a spine injury, is slated to make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Mock has allowed eight runs over 16 innings since beginning his rehab assignment in low-A ball. The Nats could try him as either a starter or a reliever next month, depending on what their needs are.

Nationals transferred RHP Garrett Mock from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.

Mock has been sidelined since early April with a spinal disc injury. He's not expected to be major-league ready until sometime later this summer.

Garrett Mock, who is on the shelf with a cervical spinal disc injury, said Friday that he hopes to be ready for game action in six weeks.

Mock, who has already missed six weeks, won't be an option for the Nationals before the end of July or August.

Garrett Mock (neck) played catch at Nationals Park on Monday.

Mock was placed on the disabled list after his first start due to a cervical spinal disc injury, though he is "confident" that he is getting better. Still, there's no timetable in place for his return and the Nationals don't seem keen on rushing him back.

According to Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo, right-hander Garrett Mock (neck) felt a twinge during a bullpen session on Monday.

"We sent him to D.C. to get it checked out," said Rizzo. "It turns out he had something in his upper back that was causing the shoulder. It's a disc thing that put pressure on the nerve. He thought it was his shoulder, but it was actually (radiating) from his neck." It's not known when he'll be able to resume baseball activities.
