Braves signed INF Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract.
Snyder, 29, hasn't played in the majors since 2013 and spent a chunk of 2015 in independent ball. The Braves are rebuilding, but he's almost surely nothing more than a depth signing. Mon, Nov 23, 2015 04:23:00 PM

Brandon Snyder has signed with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League.

A former-first round pick the Orioles, the 28-year-old Snyder batted .206/.284/.444 with eight home runs in 141 plate appearances at Triple-A with the Red Sox last year. He owns a .243/.287/.399 batting line over 158 plate appearances in the majors.

Red Sox reassigned INF Brandon Snyder to minor league camp.

Snyder was outrighted off Boston's 40-man roster in early November and then re-signed to a minor league contract a couple weeks later. He wasn't in the running for an Opening Day roster spot this spring in camp.

Red Sox re-signed INF Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Snyder was outrighted off Boston's 40-man roster in early November but is back now on a non-guaranteed minor league deal. The 26-year-old hit .180/.212/.360 with two home runs this year in 27 major league games.

Red Sox sent INF Brandon Snyder outright to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Snyder elected free agency and will search for a minor league contract elsewhere. He slashed .261/.332/.454 with 10 homers on the farm this past season.

Red Sox activated INF Brandon Snyder from the 15-day disabled list.

Snyder has been recovered from his elbow injury for a few extra days already, but the Red Sox wanted to wait until rosters expanded to officially activate him. He'll provide an extra bat off the bench for the stretch run.

Brandon Snyder (elbow) is likely to return September 1.

Snyder is recovered from his elbow injury but the Red Sox will wait until rosters expand at the start of September to officially bring him back. The infielder has been on the 15-day disabled list since August 10.

Red Sox placed INF Brandon Snyder on the 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury.

Will Middlebrooks was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket in a corresponding 25-man roster move and will get the majority of starts at third base for the Red Sox going forward. There is no timetable for Snyder's return.

Brandon Snyder is expected to be placed on the disabled list.

The full extent of the injury (or when it occurred) isn't yet known, but Snyder hasn't played since Wednesday. The Red Sox will recall Will Middlebrooks to replace him on the active roster.

Brandon Snyder homered off David Price for the Red Sox's only run in Monday's loss to the Rays.

Unfortunately, that homer probably bought him the at-bat against Joel Peralta in the eighth in which he hit a routine fly to left with the tying run on third. If not for the homer, there's a good chance Mike Carp, a better bat against righties, would have been up in his place. The medium-depth fly ended up resulting in an out at home plate because Jerry Meals was in terrible position and blew the call, denying Snyder a sac fly and the Red Sox the tying run in a game they lost 2-1.

Brandon Snyder hit a bases-loaded, three-run double to help the Red Sox beat the Padres on Tuesday.

Snyder was playing third base as Jose Iglesias manned shortstop, and he made his presence felt with the double in the fourth inning. He has five RBI in just three games since being recalled and could continue to see at-bats while Stephen Drew is ailing. Despite that, there's still little reason to pay him any mind in fantasy leagues as of now.

Red Sox purchased the contract of 1B/3B Brandon Snyder from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Snyder will replace the demoted Will Middlebrooks on the active roster. The 26-year-old was hitting .267/.338/.470 through 63 games this season in Triple-A and will function as a backup at first base and the hot corner.

Red Sox signed 1B Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract.

This confirms a report by Chris Cotillo. Snyder was given his release by the Rangers last week after it was clear he wouldn't make the Opening Day roster. The versatile 26-year-old will report to Triple-A Pawtucket and could be an option for the big club if there's an injury.

Rangers released 1B Brandon Snyder.

It was a move that was asked for by the 26-year-old, as it seemed he wasn't going to make the Opening Day roster. Snyder failed to earn a bench role this spring, hitting .154 in 26 Cactus League at-bats.

Brandon Snyder hit his first Cactus League home run in the Rangers 4-3 win over the A's Saturday.

Snyder was a non-roster invitee to spring training this year, so he'll need a lot more days like Saturday to win a bench role. The 26-year-old hit .277/.309/.446 in 69 plate appearances with the Rangers last season.
