Orioles optioned INF David Adams to Triple-A Norfolk.

Adams had himself a nice spring at the plate, slashing .281/.342/.313 with four RBI in 32 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win him a spot in the Opening Day bench. The 26-year-old should get a chance as a utility man with the Orioles at some point during the season.

Orioles claimed INF David Adams off waivers from the Indians.

The Indians signed Adams to a one-year deal in December, but the infielder wasn't going to make the club out of spring. He'll serve as a utility infielder for the O's.

Indians signed INF David Adams to a one-year contract.

Adams was non-tendered earlier this month by the Yankees. The 26-year-old has always had trouble staying healthy and hit only .193/.252/.286 across 43 games with the Yankees this past season. He used to be a decent prospect, though, and will be on the Opening Day roster as a reserve infielder.

Yankees non-tendered INF David Adams.

Adams, 26, was once a decent prospect, but he's always had trouble staying healthy and hit only .193/.252/.286 across 43 games with the Yankees this past season. He's now free to seek a job elsewhere.

David Adams delivered a two-run double in the fourth inning on Friday, helping to lead the Yankees to a 3-2 victory over the Astros in Houston.

The crucial knock off Astros starter Brett Oberholtzer was his lone hit in four trips to the plate on the night. He has disappointed in his brief time with the Bombers this season, slashing just .194/.255/.276 with 13 RBI and a 38/9 K/BB ratio in 134 at-bats.

Yankees recalled INF David Adams from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Adams will take the spot of the injured Luis Cruz (knee) on the active roster. The 26-year-old batted .190/.260/.276 in 35 games with the Yankees earlier this season and is unlikely to hold much fantasy value.

Yankees optioned INF David Adams to Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes-Barre.

The move was made in order to clear a spot for Travis Ishikawa on the active roster. Adams started out hot with the Yanks, but he'll head down to the minors with a lousy .190/.260/.276 batting line in 35 games.

David Adams went 2-for-5 with two runs scored Friday against the Rays.

Adams has been a pleasant surprise as a stopgap option at third base for the Bombers, hitting .323 (10-for-31) with two homers, two doubles and three RBI in eight games. Keep running him out there in AL-only leagues, but Kevin Youkilis (back) appears on track to return from the disabled list late next week.

David Adams went 2-for-4 and hit his first major league homer Monday off the Orioles' Freddy Garcia.

Adams is 6-for-18 in five games since being called up Wednesday. It looks like he'll get the nod over Jayson Nix at third base until Kevin Youkilis returns. Nix will still play shortstop against left-handers.
