Red Sox purchased the contract of RHP Blaine Boyer from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Boyer is taking the roster spot vacated by Brian Johnson, who was sent down after posting a shutout in a spot start Saturday. It could be a one-day stay for Boyer, as he would seem to be a prime candidate to be designated for assignment when David Price (elbow) is activated Monday. May 28 - 10:00 AM
