Dana Eveland (elbow) is likely done for the season.
Eveland was given a cortisone injection in his left elbow in hopes that it would allow him to keep pitching, but an MRI Thursday showed that he still had inflammation. The good news is that he has no structural damage. "It was a relief to know there is no structural damage," Eveland said, "but it (stinks) I was having a good season, I wanted to finish strong." Dana Eveland will be unavailable until at least Friday after receiving a cortisone injection in his ailing left elbow.

The Mets are hoping it's not a disabled list situation, but it's not a given. Eveland has pitched surprisingly well for the Mets, posting a 3.09 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 21/5 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 relief innings.

An X-ray on Dana Eveland's left elbow came back clean.

Eveland was hit on the pitching elbow by a comebacker Monday. While he escaped serious injury, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was unavailable for a few days.

Mets purchased the contract of LHP Dana Eveland from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Eveland held a 3.91 ERA while striking out 58 over 46 innings at Vegas. The 30-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012. He'll be used as a long man in the bullpen.

Dana Eveland will join the Mets on Sunday.

May 31 - 9:10 PM

Mets signed LHP Dana Eveland to a minor league contract.

He did not receive an invitation to spring training. Eveland spent last season in Korea after posting a 4.73 ERA over 32 1/3 frames for the Orioles in 2012. He'll provide minor league depth.
Feb 17 - 8:50 PM

Dana Eveland has signed a one-year contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization.

Eveland will make $675,000 guaranteed with an additional $225,000 available through incentives. It's a nice contract for the 29-year-old, who was likely headed for a minor league deal this offseason.

It's the third time this season he's been designated. Eveland was only up for a day this time around and didn't pitch. He'll almost surely clear waivers.

Dana Eveland will start Saturday against the Indians.

Eveland ultimately got the nod over Tommy Hunter. The 28-year-old left-hander has a 3.00 ERA over one start and 10 relief appearances this year, despite an underwhelming 13/11 K/BB ratio in 27 innings. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues.
