Dodgers recalled INF Justin Sellers from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Sellers is batting just .191/.267/.250 in 76 plate appearances with the Dodgers this season. He'll serve as insurance at shortstop with Hanley Ramirez's hamstring ailing once again.
Jun 10 - 5:46 PM

Dodgers optioned SS Justin Sellers to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Dodgers have decided to go with Dee Gordon with Hanley Ramirez out, so Sellers' playing time would have been limited. Tim Federowicz has been called up to take his roster spot.
May 8 - 6:36 PM

Justin Sellers went 0-for-2 and committed two errors at shortstop before being removed for a pinch-hitter on Tuesday.

Sellers is in there for his glove, so more nights like this could get him exiled back to the minors very quickly. Manager Don Mattingly indicated that he planned to stick with Sellers for now.
Apr 3 - 1:27 AM

Dodgers recalled INF Justin Sellers from Triple-A Albuquerque.

With Hanley Ramirez (thumb) sidelined, Sellers will open the season as the Dodgers' regular shortstop. A career .204/.283/.323 hitter, he possesses minimal fantasy value.
Mar 31 - 6:26 PM

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said starting Justin Sellers at shortstop and Luis Cruz at third base will be "pretty much a regular thing."

The Dodgers were expected to go with Cruz at short and a host of players at third while Hanley Ramirez is out, but they've ultimately decided to keep Cruz at the hot corner. Sellers is a career .204/.283/.323 hitter without much power or speed, so he offers next to nothing for fantasy owners.
Mar 31 - 8:23 AM

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly hinted Friday that Justin Sellers could begin the season as the starting shortstop.

Sellers was optioned to Triple-A earlier this month, but the thumb injury to Hanley Ramirez has changed things for the Dodgers. The 27-year-old barely played last season due to a back injury and offers little fantasy appeal. Luis Cruz would remain the starter at third base if Sellers gets a shot at shortstop.
Mar 29 - 10:07 PM

Dodgers optioned INF Justin Sellers and RHP Shawn Tolleson to Triple-A Albuquerque; reassigned C Jesus Flores to minor league camp.

Now that Flores has been cut from the roster, Tim Federowicz has essentially clinched the backup catcher job behind A.J. Ellis.
Mar 19 - 12:21 PM

Justin Sellers was scratched from the Dodgers starting lineup on Friday due to a sprained ankle.

The veteran infielder has had to deal with a variety of injury and off the field issues this spring, and appears very unlikely to make the Opening Day roster. He's expected to serve as organizational depth at the Triple-A level.
Mar 15 - 9:46 PM

Justin Sellers had an ingrown toenail removed this week and is "still in pain."

Sellers will probably be shut down for a few more days. The infielder is expected to open the year in Triple-A.
Feb 28 - 11:03 AM

Justin Sellers told reporters that his January arrest for reckless motorcycle driving was a "misunderstanding."

Sellers has taken several ride-alongs with the West Sacramento police and thought he was the subject of a prank when a patrol car began trailing his motorcycle closely. "I kept hoping it was my buddy or some of the guys I met, so I just continued home," said the Dodgers infielder. He was eventually arrested for driving recklessly and then fleeing, and has a court date in March.
Feb 14 - 2:21 PM

Dodgers infielder Justin Sellers was arrested in West Sacramento on Saturday for reckless driving.

Sellers was caught doing "wheelies" on his motorcycle, and when police tried to pull him over, Sellers took off. After a short chase ensued, he decided turn himself in. This shouldn't do anything to hurt his chances of making the Dodgers as a reserve infielder, but it certainly isn't something the club will be happy about.

Justin Sellers will undergo surgery this week to repair a bulging disk in his lower back.

The procedure will end his season, but Sellers should be ready to go for the start of spring training next year.

Dodgers transferred INF Justin Sellers from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Sellers has already missed over a month with a bulging disk in his lower back, and now he won't be eligible to return until late July. The move is being made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Yasel Puig.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly doesn't expect Justin Sellers (back) to be activated from the disabled list when first eligible on June 7.

He said the opposite just a few days ago, but evidently the infielder isn't progressing as expected. Sellers received an epidural shot for a bulging disk in his back and has yet to resume baseball-related activities.
