Scott Van Slyke (neck, shoulder) is not in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday.

Van Slyke is still dealing with neck and shoulder stiffness as a result of a dive late last month. He's considered day-to-day. Skip Schumaker is getting the start in left field Tuesday.

Scott Van Slyke was scratched from Monday's lineup with a recurrence of neck and shoulder stiffness.

Van Slyke first suffered the injury while diving for a ball on May 25. He missed just one game with the ailment but has dealt with some stiffness since. Consider him day-to-day. Jerry Hairston took Van Slyke's spot in left field Monday.

Scott Van Slyke singled and belted a solo homer in Monday's win over the Padres.

Adrian Gonzalez had a solo shot in the first and Van Slyke added one in the second, and that's all the Dodgers wound up needing. Van Slyke now has five longballs in 17 games this season and should play pretty regularly while Carl Crawford (hamstring) is on the DL. He's worth a short-term play in deeper leagues.

Scott Van Slyke doubled twice and knocked in two runs while starting in place of the benched Andre Ethier on Wednesday.

It's rather bizarre that the Dodgers have talked about promoting Yasiel Puig or Joc Pederson when Van Slyke has three homers and now two doubles in five starts for the club. He's not a great long-term bet, but he's been on fire at the plate all year long.

Van Slyke fouled a pitch off his left leg and had to be removed from the game. The injury isn't considered serious and the Dodgers expect him to available for the start of Monday's three-game series with the Brewers.

Scott Van Slyke clubbed a pair of solo homers Friday in a loss to the Braves.

Van Slyke now has three homers in five games since being called up last week. The 26-year-old was raking at Triple-A Albuquerque prior to his promotion and is making a strong case to stick around as a utility player.

Van Slyke, 26, was hitting .397/.503/.733 with nine homers and a 1.236 OPS in 34 games at Triple-A this season. He'll provide depth between first base and the outfield.
