Scott Van Slyke slugged a two-run homer Friday against the Marlins.

Van Slyke was in the lineup against the left-hander Justin Nicolino and took him deep in the second inning. He was also hit by a pitch in the fourth inning and later came around to score. The 28-year-old is batting .265/.330/.461 with four home runs and 18 RBI over 41 games this season. He has some pop in his bat, but likely won't see enough at-bats to be relevant in mixed leagues if everyone stays healthy for Los Angeles.
Jun 26 - 10:35 PM

Scott Van Slyke homered against the Rangers in his first game back from the 15-day disabled list.

Van Slyke had been dealing with a back injury since late May. He returned in style, swatting a two-run homer off Wandy Rodriguez in the sixth inning and finishing 2-for-4. His other hit went for a double, also stylish. Prior to the injury, he was hitting .264/.313/.402 with two homers and 14 RBI across 87 at-bats, receiving most of his plate appearances against lefties.

Jun 9 - 7:33 PM

Scott Van Slyke (back) has been progressing slowly in his recovery and will begin hitting off of a tee next week.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly still believes that he'll be ready to return to the Dodgers after his minimal 15 days on the disabled list. With Yasiel Puig back in the fold, Van Slyke could have far fewer opportunities in the Dodgers outfield upon his return.

May 27 - 7:14 PM

Scott Van Slyke helped the Dodgers steal a win from the Marlins with a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning on Monday.

The Dodgers threw away a 2-1 lead in the top half of the inning when Christian Yelich hit a two-run home run. Van Slyke turned the Dodgers' frowns upside down, taking closer Steve Cishek out to center field for a walk-off three-run blast.
