Angels released RHP Trevor Bell.

Bell gets the boot after posting a miserable 8.27 ERA and 19/24 K/BB ratio over 10 starts with Triple-A Salt Lake this year. The 25-year-old right-hander owns a 5.21 ERA in the majors. He'll attempt to latch on with a new organization.

Angels optioned RHP Trevor Bell to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bell had multiple stints with the Angels last season but was nothing more than a ''mop-up man.'' His future in Anaheim remains in question. The move trims the Opening Day roster down to 33 players.

Trevor Bell took care of business Sunday against the Rangers, tossing 4 1/3 innings of three-hit, shutout ball.

The right-hander walked two and fanned three in what was his finest spring outing. In the process, he lowered his ERA to 3.72 in 9 2/3 innings.

Angels recalled RHP Trevor Bell from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bell holds a 3.38 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 16 games in his multiple stints with the Angels this season. He'll provide bullpen depth but won't be used in high-leverage situations.

Angels optioned RHP Trevor Bell to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bell was called up from the minors before Tuesday's game, then threw 64 pitches over 4 1/3 innings in relief of Tyler Chatwood. He was going to be unavailable until the weekend, so the Angels will likely replace him with another reliever prior to Wednesday's game.

He'll take the place of Scott Downs on the active roster. Bell was limited to just three appearances during spring training due to a shoulder injury, but is back to full health. He posted a 4.72 ERA and 45/21 K/BB ratio over 61 innings with the Angels last season.

Angels optioned RHP Trevor Bell to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Bell has been limited to just three appearances this spring due to shoulder issues, but it looks like he'll be OK for the start of the minor league season. He would likely be one of the first pitchers called up from the minors if there are any injuries in the starting rotation.

Trevor Bell has been shut down for the season due to plantar fasciitis in his foot.

Bell has been unable to pitch since September 7 due to the malady. He'll conclude the 2010 season with a 4.72 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 45/21 K/BB rate over 61 innings.

The Angels have moved Trevor Bell to the bullpen.

Joel Pineiro is just about ready to return to the starting rotation and will take Bell's spot once he does. Bell, 23, has a 4.72 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP in 61 total innings this season for the Angels.

Trevor Bell surrendered two runs in six innings and struck out six Wednesday as the Angels beat the Mariners 4-2.

Bell allowed nine hits, but since he was facing the Mariners, it's a given that most were singles. Bell has a 1.59 ERA in 11 1/3 innings versus Seattle this year. He's at 5.68 in 44 1/3 innings against everyone else.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said that Trevor Bell will remain in the rotation for the foreseeable future after his impressive start Friday.

Bell allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings in what was easily his best start this season. "The way he pitched (Friday) was absolutely a step forward and that's what we keep needing to see from Trevor," said Scioscia. Despite the vote of confidence from Scioscia, Bell doesn't need to be anywhere near your fantasy team right now.

Trevor Bell yielded two runs in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday versus the Orioles.

Well, at least he lowered his ERA to 5.90 and didn't get charged with the loss. Bell also struck out five, walked only one and gave up four hits. He gets the Tigers next week, but is obviously not fantasy relevant.
