Brooks Conrad has reached a contract agreement with the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball.
The deal will be made official in December. Conrad hit just .133/.181/.306 with four homers and 15 RBI in 105 plate appearances this past year between the Brewers and Rays. He should have a better time in Japan. Mon, Nov 5, 2012 11:06:00 AM

Brooks Conrad launched a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Adam Jones gave the O's an early lead with a solo shot, but Conrad came back with a two-run blast in the fifth that put the Rays up for good. The utility player is batting just .192 in his time with the Rays but has at least gone deep a couple times.

Brooks Conrad will bat cleanup Wednesday against the Royals.

This is the first time Conrad has batted cleanup in his career, but we wouldn't expect anything less from Rays manager Joe Maddon. Jeff Keppinger is hitting third.

Brooks Conrad drove in four runs with a pair of doubles as the Rays beat the Phillies 7-3 on Sunday to complete a doubleheader sweep.

It was Conrad's first multihit game since July 31. The Rays won tonight despite limiting themselves to relievers in the contest. Cesar Ramos started and pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Wade Davis was the only pitcher to struggle, and after he left, Brandon Gomes and J.P. Howell combined to throw 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

Rays claimed INF Brooks Conrad off waivers from the Brewers.

Conrad was designated for assignment by Milwaukee earlier this month after posting a rough .075/.136/.225 slash line in 44 plate appearances. He's doubtful to suddenly reach a high level of success in Tampa Bay.

Brewers designated INF Brooks Conrad for assignment.

With a hideous .075/.136/.225 line through 44 plate appearances, the 32-year-old was just taking up a spot on Milwaukee's bench better allocated elsewhere. Outside of a stretch in 2010 with the Braves, Conrad has never hit in the majors. He is also not a good defender. He'll draw no interest on waivers.

Brooks Conrad smashed his first home run of the season, leading the Brewers to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Pirates on Saturday.

Conrad came into the game 0-for-26 on the season, but came up huge with the two run blast off of Erik Bedard in the fourth inning. With his 1-for-3 effort, he raised his average all the way up to .034 on the season. He shouldn't be owned even in the deepest of NL-only leagues, but tonight was still a very nice night for him.

Brewers recalled INF Brooks Conrad from Triple-A Nashville.

He'll replace the injured Travis Ishikawa (oblique) on the active roster. Conrad went hitless in 21 at-bats with the Brewers earlier this month. He'll likely be used as infield depth behind Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks.

As expected. Conrad was off to a hot start with Triple-A Nashville, hitting .400/.483/.820 with five homers, 13 RBI and a 1.303 OPS across 58 plate appearances. He made a start at first base Wednesday after the club learned that Mat Gamel (knee) would miss the rest of season and he'll likely be thrown into the mix with the big club, as well. Travis Ishikawa figures to handle the bulk of the starts for now, though Corey Hart will also likely get a look.
