Padres purchased the contract of INF Brooks Conrad from Triple-A El Paso.

Conrad, who hasn't appeared in the majors since 2012, has batted .275/.347/.526 with 18 homers and 57 RBI over 77 games for El Paso this season. He'll provide depth all over the infield.
Jul 2 - 1:49 PM

Padres signed INF Brooks Conrad to a minor league contract.

The deal does not include an invitation to spring training. The 33-year-old spent the 2013 season in Japan, slashing a meager .175/.319/.281 in 24 games. He'll function merely as organizational depth.
Jan 4 - 11:21 AM

Brooks Conrad has reached a contract agreement with the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball.

The deal will be made official in December. Conrad hit just .133/.181/.306 with four homers and 15 RBI in 105 plate appearances this past year between the Brewers and Rays. He should have a better time in Japan.

Brooks Conrad has elected free agency.

He's decided to decline an outright assignment from the Rays and will now look for a new organization this winter. Conrad hit just .133/.181/.306 over 49 major league games this season.

Rays sent INF Brooks Conrad outright to Triple-A Durham.

Conrad was sent down to the minors at the end of last month and removed from the 40-man roster earlier this week. He batted just .172 (10-for-58) with two homers in his time with the Rays.

Rays designated INF Brooks Conrad for assignment.

The move clears a spot for Evan Longoria on the 40-man roster. Conrad was optioned to Triple-A Durham last week after batting .172 (10-for-58) with two homers in 24 games with the Rays.

Conrad managed just a .172/.213/.362 batting line in 24 games with the Rays. He could be back later this season.

Brooks Conrad launched a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Adam Jones gave the O's an early lead with a solo shot, but Conrad came back with a two-run blast in the fifth that put the Rays up for good. The utility player is batting just .192 in his time with the Rays but has at least gone deep a couple times.

Brooks Conrad will bat cleanup Wednesday against the Royals.

This is the first time Conrad has batted cleanup in his career, but we wouldn't expect anything less from Rays manager Joe Maddon. Jeff Keppinger is hitting third.

Brooks Conrad drove in four runs with a pair of doubles as the Rays beat the Phillies 7-3 on Sunday to complete a doubleheader sweep.

It was Conrad's first multihit game since July 31. The Rays won tonight despite limiting themselves to relievers in the contest. Cesar Ramos started and pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Wade Davis was the only pitcher to struggle, and after he left, Brandon Gomes and J.P. Howell combined to throw 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

Rays claimed INF Brooks Conrad off waivers from the Brewers.

Conrad was designated for assignment by Milwaukee earlier this month after posting a rough .075/.136/.225 slash line in 44 plate appearances. He's doubtful to suddenly reach a high level of success in Tampa Bay.

Brewers designated INF Brooks Conrad for assignment.

With a hideous .075/.136/.225 line through 44 plate appearances, the 32-year-old was just taking up a spot on Milwaukee's bench better allocated elsewhere. Outside of a stretch in 2010 with the Braves, Conrad has never hit in the majors. He is also not a good defender. He'll draw no interest on waivers.
Tue, Jun 19, 2012 02:32:00 PM

Brooks Conrad smashed his first home run of the season, leading the Brewers to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Pirates on Saturday.

Conrad came into the game 0-for-26 on the season, but came up huge with the two run blast off of Erik Bedard in the fourth inning. With his 1-for-3 effort, he raised his average all the way up to .034 on the season. He shouldn't be owned even in the deepest of NL-only leagues, but tonight was still a very nice night for him.

Brewers recalled INF Brooks Conrad from Triple-A Nashville.

He'll replace the injured Travis Ishikawa (oblique) on the active roster. Conrad went hitless in 21 at-bats with the Brewers earlier this month. He'll likely be used as infield depth behind Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks.
