Kyle Kendrick allowed one run over four innings in his return to the mound against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Kendrick was activated from the 15-day disabled list earlier in the day after missing a month with right shoulder inflammation, and he pitched well in his return. A Paul Goldschmidt solo homer was the only damage against him, and Kendrick gave up three hits and two walks in total. Kendrick should be able to go a little deeper his next time out, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Giants. Sep 2 - 1:34 AM

Date:

Rockies activated RHP Kyle Kendrick from the 15-day disabled list.

Right shoulder inflammation sidelined Kendrick for the entirety of August. His numbers are enough to inflame any shoulder, as he was pitching to a 6.43 ERA over 21 starts. The 31-year-old right-hander is not a palatable fantasy option.
Sep 1 - 1:08 PM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) will start one of the games in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks.

Kendrick missed all of August with right shoulder inflammation. He's been among the worst starters in MLB this year, winning just three of his 21 starts with a brutal 6.43 ERA. The 31-year-old makes for a poor streaming option against the D-backs.
Aug 29 - 6:09 PM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) is expected to be cleared for a rehab assignment after getting through a 45-pitch simulated game Tuesday with no issues.

"He looked good," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "No issues. Feels healthy. Probably the next step is talking about getting him out in a rehab start." Kendrick should be a couple weeks away from rejoining the Rockies' rotation.

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) is set to throw a simulated game on Tuesday.

Kendrick has been out all month with right shoulder tendinitis, but he should be back with the Rockies in September at this rate. The 30-year-old has really struggled this season, posting a 6.43 ERA over 21 starts. No pitcher (min. 100 IP) in MLB has a higher ERA.
Aug 25 - 8:48 AM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) on Tuesday threw his second bullpen session since landing on the disabled list.

He'll throw one more bullpen session on Friday, then it will be time for a simulated game and a rehab assignment. Kendrick has been out all month with inflammation in his pitching shoulder, but he's feeling much better since getting a cortisone shot.
Aug 18 - 9:58 PM

An MRI taken Tuesday on Kyle Kendrick's right shoulder confirmed the initial diagnosis of inflammation.

That's obviously good news, though Kendrick will get a second opinion this week from Dr. David Altchek. The right-hander was placed on the disabled list August 1.
Aug 4 - 5:45 PM

Rockies placed RHP Kyle Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation.

He left Friday's start after throwing just 25 pitches. Kendrick could be dealing with a rotator cuff injury, which sometimes requires surgery. His roster spot will be absorbed by right-hander Scott Oberg.
Aug 1 - 5:57 PM

Kyle Kendrick will undergo an MRI exam on his injured shoulder on Monday.

The Rockies believe that the injury is to his rotator cuff but remain hopeful that it isn't too serious. Either way, a trip to the disabled list could be in the works for the veteran right-hander.
Jul 31 - 11:48 PM

Kyle Kendrick was forced to leave Friday's start against the Cardinals due to inflammation in his right shoulder.

Before departing, the right-hander had surrendered a pair of runs on four hits in his lone inning of work, including a home run by Matt Carpenter. He's considered day-to-day and should be ready to take his next turn through the rotation on Wednesday against the Mariners. He and his 6.43 ERA should continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes.
Jul 31 - 9:21 PM

Kyle Kendrick was tagged for six runs on seven hits over five innings against the Reds on Sunday, but walked away with his fourth victory after an offensive explosion from the Rockies bailed him out.

Kendrick walked three and struck out three in the ballgame. He has been a complete disaster in his first season with the Rockies, posting a 6.33 ERA and 59/34 K/BB ratio over 112 1/3 innings. He'll look for better results on Friday when he does battle against the Cardinals in Saint Louis.
Jul 26 - 8:09 PM

Kyle Kendrick had another rough outing Tuesday, allowing 10 hits and six runs -- five earned -- over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers.

Kendrick surrendered a homer among his 10 hits allowed, but it was mostly quantity and not quality that hurt the right-hander in the outing. Kendrick walked two while striking out two on the night. The loss was a continuation of a nightmare season for Kendrick, who is now 3-11 with a 6.12 ERA in 19 starts. He's fantasy-relevant only so owners can load up on players from the fortunate team that gets to oppose him on a given night. That team will next be the Cubs on Monday.
Jul 22 - 1:00 AM

Kyle Kendrick pitched one scoreless inning Thursday against the Braves before a rain delay ended his night.

It was supposed to be Kendrick's final start before the break, but since he threw just eight pitches, the Rockies could bring him back this weekend if they'd like. Perhaps he'll just pitch in relief then; the Rockies had to use seven pitchers out of the pen tonight, so they'll need the help.
Jul 10 - 2:34 AM

Kyle Kendrick pitched well in a losing effort against the Marlins on Friday, allowing just two runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Kendrick punched out four on the evening while walking two. Even with the strong start, he has been absolutely brutal this season, compiling a 5.87 ERA and 40/25 K/BB mark over 79 2/3 innings. He should be avoided for next week's start against the Astros at Coors Field on Wednesday.
Jun 12 - 10:21 PM

Kyle Kendrick took part in a rare pitcher's duel at Coor's Field, limiting the Marlins to one run over seven innings in a no-decision.

Kendrick and Marlins starter Jose Urena collectively scoffed at the notion of Coor's as a "hitter's park." The game was tied at 2-2 when Kendrick exited after seven innings. The Marlins ultimately won on a homer by Adeiny Hechavarria in the top of the 10th inning. Long, long before that home run, it was Kendrick's show. He got the one run on his line out of the way early, surrendering an RBI single to Marcell Ozuna before posting zeros over the next six innings. He struck out four and walked one on the day. Despite the shutdown effort, Kendricks' numbers remain awful, as he holds a 6.16 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 36/23 K/BB ratio over 73 innings. Kendrick and Urena will hook up again in their next respective starts, though they'll be tangoing in Miami rather than Denver.
