Kyle Kendrick limited the Giants to one run in six innings to win Friday.
Kendrick's season and probably his Rockies career ends on a rare high note. He finishes up 7-13 with a 6.32 ERA and a whopping 33 homers allowed in 142 1/3 innings. It's possible that he'll have to settle for a minor league contract this winter. Oct 3 - 1:42 AM

Kyle Kendrick pitched poorly despite ample run support in Saturday's no-decision against the Dodgers, allowing six runs on seven hits over five-plus innings.

The Rockies handed Kendrick a 6-2 lead after three innings, but he would drop it like a small child holding onto an overflowing bowl of cereal. The metaphorical milk hit the floor when the Dodgers scored a run in the fifth, then three more in sixth. The lackluster outing pushed his ERA to a cringe-worthy 6.54 ERA. He also holds a disappointing 1.55 WHIP. He'll hit the dusty trail for a date with the Giants in his final start of the 2015 season.

Kyle Kendrick was destroyed in a losing effort against the Padres on Sunday, allowing six runs on six hits over his four innings.

Kendrick punched out three on the afternoon while issuing one free pass. His biggest problem was his inability to keep the baseball in the yard, as Yangervis Solarte, Matt Kemp, Jedd Gyorko and Corey Spangenberg each took him deep. It has been just a miserable season for the veteran right-hander who heads into Friday's start against the Dodgers with an abysmal 6.37 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.

Kyle Kendrick picked up his sixth victory of the season on Sunday, limiting the Mariners to two runs on three hits over his five innings of work.

The veteran right-hander struck out four and walked two on the day. He departed clinging to a 3-2 lead, and a quartet of Rockies relievers each worked scoreless innings in succession to preserve his victory. Kendrick heads into Saturday's start against the Padres with a disappointing 6.15 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 69/40 K/BB ratio over 127 1/3 innings.
Sep 13 - 8:10 PM

Kyle Kendrick homered and pitched five innings of three-run ball in a victory over the Padres on Monday.

Still not quite a quality start. Kendrick pitched seven scoreless innings to beat the Brewers on Opening Day. Since then, he's picked up four more wins, but none of them have been paired with a quality start. His other four quality starts have resulted in two losses and two no-decisions.
Sep 7 - 7:43 PM

Kyle Kendrick allowed one run over four innings in his return to the mound against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Kendrick was activated from the 15-day disabled list earlier in the day after missing a month with right shoulder inflammation, and he pitched well in his return. A Paul Goldschmidt solo homer was the only damage against him, and Kendrick gave up three hits and two walks in total. Kendrick should be able to go a little deeper his next time out, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Giants.
Sep 2 - 1:34 AM

Rockies activated RHP Kyle Kendrick from the 15-day disabled list.

Right shoulder inflammation sidelined Kendrick for the entirety of August. His numbers are enough to inflame any shoulder, as he was pitching to a 6.43 ERA over 21 starts. The 31-year-old right-hander is not a palatable fantasy option.
Sep 1 - 1:08 PM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) will start one of the games in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks.

Kendrick missed all of August with right shoulder inflammation. He's been among the worst starters in MLB this year, winning just three of his 21 starts with a brutal 6.43 ERA. The 31-year-old makes for a poor streaming option against the D-backs.
Aug 29 - 6:09 PM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) is expected to be cleared for a rehab assignment after getting through a 45-pitch simulated game Tuesday with no issues.

"He looked good," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "No issues. Feels healthy. Probably the next step is talking about getting him out in a rehab start." Kendrick should be a couple weeks away from rejoining the Rockies' rotation.

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) is set to throw a simulated game on Tuesday.

Kendrick has been out all month with right shoulder tendinitis, but he should be back with the Rockies in September at this rate. The 30-year-old has really struggled this season, posting a 6.43 ERA over 21 starts. No pitcher (min. 100 IP) in MLB has a higher ERA.
Aug 25 - 8:48 AM

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) on Tuesday threw his second bullpen session since landing on the disabled list.

He'll throw one more bullpen session on Friday, then it will be time for a simulated game and a rehab assignment. Kendrick has been out all month with inflammation in his pitching shoulder, but he's feeling much better since getting a cortisone shot.
Aug 18 - 9:58 PM

An MRI taken Tuesday on Kyle Kendrick's right shoulder confirmed the initial diagnosis of inflammation.

That's obviously good news, though Kendrick will get a second opinion this week from Dr. David Altchek. The right-hander was placed on the disabled list August 1.
Aug 4 - 5:45 PM

Rockies placed RHP Kyle Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation.

He left Friday's start after throwing just 25 pitches. Kendrick could be dealing with a rotator cuff injury, which sometimes requires surgery. His roster spot will be absorbed by right-hander Scott Oberg.
Aug 1 - 5:57 PM

Kyle Kendrick will undergo an MRI exam on his injured shoulder on Monday.

The Rockies believe that the injury is to his rotator cuff but remain hopeful that it isn't too serious. Either way, a trip to the disabled list could be in the works for the veteran right-hander.
Jul 31 - 11:48 PM

Kyle Kendrick was forced to leave Friday's start against the Cardinals due to inflammation in his right shoulder.

Before departing, the right-hander had surrendered a pair of runs on four hits in his lone inning of work, including a home run by Matt Carpenter. He's considered day-to-day and should be ready to take his next turn through the rotation on Wednesday against the Mariners. He and his 6.43 ERA should continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes.
