Kyle Kendrick was hit hard, giving up six runs (four earned) over five innings in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Brewers.

Ryan Braun had Kendrick's number, blasting two no-doubt home runs, accounting for four of the six runs. Overall, Kendrick allowed nine hits and walked two while striking out three. While Kendrick has shown improvement over the last two seasons, starts of this low quality are not uncommon, making him a very risky play in mixed leagues.
Apr 8 - 7:57 PM

Kyle Kendrick pitched well in Wednesday's start against the Rangers, allowing one run over seven innings, but took home a no-decision.

The right-hander was in line for the win until Jonathan Papelbon blew a two-run lead in the ninth inning. Kendrick allowed five hits and walked one while striking out four in the effort. Last season, Kendrick was solid through the first half, but fell apart in the second half. Sliding up into the #3 slot with Cole Hamels out, the Phillies need him to consistently find that first half ability.
Apr 2 - 11:16 PM

Kyle Kendrick threw five scoreless innings in his final spring start against the Pirates on Friday.

Kendrick, in preparing to be part of the Phillies' rotation out of the gate, rolled over a lineup of most of the Pirates' regulars. Kendrick leaves spring with a 2.81 ERA over 16 innings and will look to carry that success over to the regular season next week.
Mar 28 - 10:05 PM

Kyle Kendrick limited the Twins to one run in six innings and struck out six in a victory Sunday.

Kendrick missed some time with flu-like symptoms earlier this month, but he's fine now. The Phillies could really use a strong start for him next month with Cole Hamels out.
Mar 23 - 4:28 PM

Kyle Kendrick didn't take the ball for a projected Tuesday start in a minor league game due to flu-like symptoms.

He may pitch on Wednesday. Kendrick is coming off a disappointing 4.70 ERA last season but held a 3.61 mark over the two previous campaigns.

Phillies and RHP Kyle Kendrick avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $7.675 million contract.

It's significantly higher than the $6.6 million projection from in what was Kendrick's final year of arbitration eligibility. The veteran right-hander posted a disappointing 4.70 ERA last season but held a 3.61 mark over the two previous seasons. He'll slide in behind Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels in the Phillies' rotation.

Phillies transferred RHP Kyle Kendrick from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

It's a procedural move in order to re-add Antonio Bastardo to the 40-man roster. Kendrick is out for the season with a sore shoulder.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said Saturday that the Phillies will tender Kyle Kendrick a contract this winter.

Kendrick could make around $8 million in his final year of arbitration, but Amaro indicated that it was an easy decision. "I don't know why people are asking about that," the general manager said. "We will [bring him back]." Kendrick's 2013 season ended early due to a sore shoulder, but the Phils are confident that it's of no concern. He posted a 4.70 ERA this season but put up a 3.61 mark across the previous two campaigns.

The injury is not serious, but Kendrick has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2013 season. He posted a 4.70 ERA and 110/47 K/BB ratio in 182 total frames. The 29-year-old is arbitration-eligible this winter.

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) has been shut down for the rest of the season.

An MRI on Kendrick's right shoulder this week revealed only tendinitis, but the Phillies don't want to take any chances. Zach Miner will take his place in the rotation the rest of the way. Kendrick will finish the year with a 4.70 ERA and 110/47 K/BB ratio over 182 innings.

Kyle Kendrick (shoulder) will play catch on Friday.

An MRI on Kendrick's right shoulder revealed only tendinitis, but it's not a given that he'll rejoin the rotation this season. "He was told to play catch and toss, so that's a good thing for him," Phillies interim manager Ryne Sandberg said. "[We'll] leave it at that for right now."

Kyle Kendrick was diagnosed Wednesday with tendinitis in his sore right rotator cuff.

It's good news, and the Phillies are optimistic that Kendrick will be able to take his final two turns in the rotation. The 29-year-old was scratched from his Wednesday night start. Zach Miner will pitch in his place.

Kyle Kendrick was knocked around for six runs over 4 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Nationals.

Kendrick gave up eight hits in the loss, including a pair of home runs. While the 29-year-old started out hot this season, he has a 5.95 ERA over his last 18 starts. No NL pitcher has allowed more hits (207) this season. He's a poor fantasy play.
