Kyle Kendrick moved to 4-0 on the spring by holding the Nationals to one run in four innings Thursday.
He struck out five. Kendrick was reassigned Tuesday, but he could still be up with the Red Sox in very short order if Drew Pomeranz isn't ready to come off the DL on April 9. His sterling spring included a 2.18 ERA and a 31/4 K/BB ratio in 34 innings. Mar 30 - 4:36 PM

Red Sox reassigned RHP Kyle Kendrick to minor league camp.

This is an indication that the Red Sox think Drew Pomeranz will be good to go for the start of the regular season. Kendrick enjoyed a really good spring, putting up a 2.17 ERA and 26/4 K/BB ratio over 29 innings. He'll represent rotation depth in Triple-A.
Mar 28 - 10:06 AM

Kyle Kendrick gave up two runs on eight hits in six innings as the Red Sox and Phillies played to a 3-3 tie on Saturday.

He punched out six batters without issuing a free pass. Kendrick has been nails this spring, recording a 2.17 ERA through 29 innings of work. He is still likely ticketed to start the season in the Triple-A rotation. The 32-year-old veteran spent all of last season in the Angels' minor league system and last pitched in the majors in 2015, going 7-13 with a 6.32 ERA for the Rockies.
Mar 25 - 5:35 PM

Kyle Kendrick moved to 3-0 after allowing two runs in five innings Monday against the Orioles.

The Red Sox seem cautiously optimistic that Drew Pomeranz will be ready to go the first time they need a fifth starter, and if that's the case, then Kendrick figures to start off in the Triple-A rotation. He's had a great spring, but he's still Kyle Kendrick.
Mar 20 - 4:42 PM

Kyle Kendrick shut out the Rays for five innings and struck out six Wednesday.

The good news is that one of Boston's rotation fallbacks is having a great spring. The bad news is that it's Kendrick, who was last seen in the majors posting a 6.32 ERA with the Rockies in 2015 and who was so awful in Triple-A last year that an Angels team desperate for pitching never gave him a callup. The Red Sox are hopeful both Steven Wright and Drew Pomeranz will be ready to go in week one, allowing them to start Kendrick off in the minors. However, with Roenis Elias hurt, Kendrick is clearly next in line if either Wright or Pomeranz has a setback.
Mar 15 - 4:40 PM

Kyle Kendrick pitched four hitless innings Sunday as the Red Sox crushed the Braves 11-1.

Not only did the Braves not bring a single regular today, but they brought just one guy, catcher Kurt Suzuki, who figures to wind up on their bench. One wonders if they'll get a call from the league office about that. Kendrick had it easy against the Triple-A lineup, getting eight outs on the ground. Kendrick's chances of making the Red Sox hinge on two of the team's starters winding up on the DL, something that it a real possibility. Even if that happens, though, Roenis Elias has to be favored over Kendrick for a spot.
Mar 5 - 4:19 PM

Red Sox signed RHP Kyle Kendrick to a minor league contract.

Kendrick hooked up on a minors deal with the Angels late last March, but he did not see any time at the major league level in 2016. Plying his trade mostly with Triple-A Salt Lake, the 32-year-old right-hander held a 4.72 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 67/19 K/BB ratio across 93 1/3 frames. He has received a non-roster invitation to spring training from the Sox, but his major league prospects are dicey at this point in his career. In 2015 -- his last season in the bigs -- he posted a 6.32 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 142 1/3 innings with the Rockies.

Angels signed RHP Kyle Kendrick to a minor league contract.

Kendrick gives the Angels some much-needed rotation depth, though the quality of the rotation depth he provides is certainly up for debate. Kendrick, 31, posted 6.32 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 80/45 K/BB ratio in 142 1/3 innings last season for the Rockies. He is presumably ticketed for Triple-A Salt Lake to open the 2016 campaign.

According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, the Angels are finalizing a deal with free agent right-hander Kyle Kendrick.

It will presumably be a minor league deal. Kendrick was released by the Braves earlier this month and posted a brutal 6.32 ERA and 80/45 K/BB ratio across 142 1/3 innings last season with the Rockies. He would provide some rotation depth.

Braves released RHP Kyle Kendrick.

The 31-year-old entered camp hoping to compete for a spot in the starting rotation but struggled mightily in each of his first two starts. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere on what will assuredly by a minor league deal.

Kyle Kendrick was lit up for seven runs and nine hits in 1 2/3 innings by the Phillies on Friday.

Kendrick also gave up three runs -- two earned -- and five hits in two innings his first time out. He's quickly pitching his way out of contention for a spot in Atlanta's rotation.

Braves signed RHP Kyle Kendrick to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Yet another non-roster invitee for Braves camp. Kendrick posted a brutal 6.32 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and 80/45 K/BB ratio across 142 1/3 innings last season for the Rockies while surrendering a league-high 33 home runs in 27 appearances. The rebuilding Braves will be desperate for arms to fill the gaps throughout 2016, so Kendrick should get a look eventually.

Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Pirates have expressed interest in free agent right-hander Kyle Kendrick.

Kendrick is coming off a nightmare season with the Rockies where he posted a ghastly 6.32 ERA with 33 home runs allowed over 27 starts. Pirates pitching coach Ray Searage has helped turn around a number of pitchers, but this could be a tough case. On the bright side, it won't take much to sign him.

Kyle Kendrick limited the Giants to one run in six innings to win Friday.

Kendrick's season and probably his Rockies career ends on a rare high note. He finishes up 7-13 with a 6.32 ERA and a whopping 33 homers allowed in 142 1/3 innings. It's possible that he'll have to settle for a minor league contract this winter.
Sat, Oct 3, 2015 01:42:00 AM

Kyle Kendrick pitched poorly despite ample run support in Saturday's no-decision against the Dodgers, allowing six runs on seven hits over five-plus innings.

The Rockies handed Kendrick a 6-2 lead after three innings, but he would drop it like a small child holding onto an overflowing bowl of cereal. The metaphorical milk hit the floor when the Dodgers scored a run in the fifth, then three more in sixth. The lackluster outing pushed his ERA to a cringe-worthy 6.54 ERA. He also holds a disappointing 1.55 WHIP. He'll hit the dusty trail for a date with the Giants in his final start of the 2015 season.
