Angels signed RHP Sean White to a minor league contract.

White has already started pitching for Triple-A Salt Lake. The 31-year-old right-hander hasn't appeared in the big leagues since 2010 as a member of the Mariners and will function as bullpen depth.

Red Sox signed RHP Sean White to a minor league contract.

It's not clear whether he'll receive an invitation to spring training. White spent all of 2011 at Triple-A in the Rockies organization, posting an ugly 5.68 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over 53 appearances. He'll serve as minor league depth.

Rockies signed RHP Sean White to a minor league contract.

He'll also get an invite to spring training. White, who turns 30 in April, posted a 5.24 ERA and 15/11 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings with the Mariners last season. He has an underwhelming 59/51 K/BB ratio over 134 innings in the big leagues, so unless his ground ball rate can bounce back, we don't see him doing well in Colorado.

White was given a couple of big-league looks over the course of the 2010 season, but he finished with a 5.24 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 34 1/3 frames and is no longer a part of the Mariners' 40-man roster.

Doctors have found no problem with Sean White's stiff right forearm.

He hasn’t thrown since Tuesday and won’t until Sunday, but that's just as a precaution. "You’re always a little nervous until you find out what it is," White said. "You try to figure out what it could be, but they looked at it and thought it was just a little muscle tightness. I feel a lot better today than I did Wednesday."

Mariners recalled RHP Sean White from Triple-A Tacoma.

White struggled mightily before getting demoted earlier this month, posting a 6.86 ERA and awful 7/10 K/BB ratio over 21 innings. The 29-year-old posted a 2.80 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 64 1/3 innings in 2009 before his season ended with right shoulder tendinitis, so he still has promise.

We're hardly surprised. White has struggled all season long, posting a 6.86 ERA over 25 relief appearances. He has an awful 7/10 K/BB ratio over 21 innings.

White spent the first six weeks of the 2010 regular season in the big leagues, but showed a lack of control in his 12 1/3 innings of relief. He's gained some confidence at the Triple-A level and should fare better this time around. Garrett Olson was also called up to help out in relief.

White has allowed only four earned runs in 12-plus innings out of the Mariners' bullpen this season, but someone had to be bumped to make room on the roster for Milton Bradley. The reliever could be back soon.

Mariners placed RHP Sean White on the 60-day disabled list, retroactive to August 29, with right shoulder tendinitis.

White, 28, will finish the 2009 season with a 2.80 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 64 1/3 innings. He threw 11 2/3 consecutive scoreless frames before the injury bug bit him in late August.

Sean White is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his his ailing right shoulder Wednesday morning.

White complained of discomfort on August 28 and hasn't pitched since. "We're obviously hoping that all he needs is some rest," said manager Don Wakamatsu, "and we can use him for the rest of the season."

The Mariners recalled RHP Sean White from Triple-A Tacoma Thursday.

Reliever Chris Jakabauskas moved into the rotation Thursday for the in place of Ryan Rowland-Smith, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with triceps tenditis. This move necessitated a need for bullpen help. White has a 4.15 ERA in two minor league appearances this season.

Mariners sent RHP Sean White outright to Triple-A Tacoma.

White, 27, was plucked from the Pirates in the 2006 Rule 5 Draft, but has struggled as a member of the Mariners' organization. He went 6-11 with a 5.47 ERA in 22 Triple-A starts last season and then missed the final month because of a shoulder strain.

Mariners activated RHP Sean White from the 60-day disabled list.

The Mariners timed it out so that White, a Rule 5 pick, would barely spend the minimum 90 days on the active roster, allowing the team to send him down next year. We don't think he's worth the trouble, but there's something here the Mariners like.
