Orioles purchased the contract of INF Alexi Casilla from Triple-A Norfolk.

Casilla has been rehabbing a hamstring injury since early September, and that's after recovering from surgery in July to remove a broken hamate bone in his right hand. It's unclear how Casilla may fit into the team's postseason plans, but clearly O's skipper Buck Showalter is looking for a way to improve his infield defense, and the versatile Casilla would certainly help.
