Blue Jays acquired RHP Mark Lowe from the Mariners for LHP Nick Wells, LHP Rob Rasmussen and LHP Jake Brentz.
Lowe has been a big asset in Seattle's pen this year, giving up just four earned runs in 36 innings, but it's also been a long time since he's stayed healthy for a full season. In fact, he hasn't thrown 50 innings in a season since 2011 (he's actually at 45 right now, including his Triple-A time). The Blue Jays can throw him right into a setup role, but who knows if he'll still be able to contribute in September or October. Jul 31 - 3:00 PM

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Blue Jays will acquire Mark Lowe from the Mariners in exchange for three minor leaguers.

Lowe inked a minor league deal with the M's over the winter and wasn't called up until May, but he's since posted a 1.00 ERA with 47 strikeouts over 36 innings. He'll held set up with the Blue Jays.

Mariners signed RHP Mark Lowe to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Lowe made just seven appearances in 2014, allowing 10 hits and six walks in seven innings for the Indians. The 31-year-old right-hander seems doubtful to crack Seattle's Opening Day bullpen.

Mark Lowe has elected free agency.

The 31-year-old right-hander appeared in seven games with the Indians during the 2014 season, registering a 3.86 ERA, 2.29 WHIP and 6/6 K/BB ratio. He'll look to secure a minor league deal with a spring training invitation elsewhere.

Indians sent RHP Mark Lowe outright to Triple-A Columbus.

Lowe had been designated for assignment earlier this week, but he's cleared waivers and decided to remain in the organization. He's allowed seven runs -- three earned -- over seven innings of work with the Indians this season.

Rays released RHP Mark Lowe.

The move doesn't come as a surprise, as Lowe was not expected to make the Rays' Opening Day roster. The 30-year-old has pitched well this spring, so it's not impossible that he'll latch on with another team soon and begin the year in the majors.

Mark Lowe is not expected to make the Rays' bullpen.

Lowe has posted an impressive 12/1 K/BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings pitched this spring, but the Rays appear likely to go with Brandon Gomes and Josh Lueke with their final two bullpen spots. The 30-year-old right-hander can opt out of his contract on Friday and is likely to latch on elsewhere quickly.
Tue, Mar 25, 2014 03:42:00 PM

Rays signed RHP Mark Lowe to a minor league contract.

The deal includes an invitation to spring training. The 30-year-old right-hander struggled with the Angels in 2013, posting a 9.26 ERA, 1.87 WHIP and 7/11 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings. The Rays have had incredible success with bullpen reclamation projects in recent history, so don't be surprised if Lowe cracks the Opening Day bullpen and proves to be effective.
