Rockies sent RHP Greg Reynolds outright to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds, 25, has an ugly 7.47 ERA and 40/36 K/BB ratio over 94 innings in the big leagues. Rockies fans probably don't need to be reminded that Evan Longoria, Clayton Kershaw and Tim Lincecum were selected after Reynolds (No. 2 overall) in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Rockies recalled RHP Greg Reynolds from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds was mediocre in his return to the majors on Monday, surrendering a run on one hit and two walks over two innings. With a career 7.60 ERA and 1.69 WHIP, his most likely role this month will be mop-up work.

Reynolds was just recalled Saturday and was pounded for four runs in an inning of work in the win over the Nationals. He has a 6.46 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over seven games -- three starts -- with the Rockies this season.

Rockies recalled RHP Greg Reynolds from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds has been bouncing between Triple-A and the majors all year. He has a 5.16 ERA over 22 2/3 innings of big league relief but might get a chance to start due to the injury to Juan Nicasio. Reynolds is taking Nicasio's 25-man roster spot.

Rockies optioned RHP Greg Reynolds to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds picked up a win in a spot start Saturday even though he didn't pitch well, giving up five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He'll return to Colorado Springs' rotation.

Rockies recalled RHP Greg Reynolds from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

As expected, Reynolds will take the mound for the Rockies Saturday night against the Royals. He has posted a respectable 4.08 ERA over 17 2/3 innings this season but is also sporting an ugly 8/7 K/BB ratio. The right-hander can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

The Rockies will call up right-hander Greg Reynolds to start Saturday against the Royals.

He'll take the place of Jhoulys Chacin, who will be pushed back to Tuesday due to tightness in his right forearm. Reynolds, 25, has a 4.08 ERA and 8/7 K/BB ratio over 17 2/3 innings with the big club this season. He's not considered a fantasy option.

Rockies optioned RHP Greg Reynolds to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds has failed as a starter in the minors and majors this year and wasn't seeing much action in the Rockies' bullpen. He'll work on his craft at Triple-A.

Rockies manager Jim Tracy said Greg Reynolds' future is likely as a middle reliever.

That's usually the role you envision for a guy that was taken No. 2 overall in the draft ahead of Evan Longoria, Clayton Kershaw and Tim Lincecum. Reynolds has posted a 6.29 ERA this season in six starts for Triple-A Colorado Springs but has been a little better for the Rockies, putting up a 4.08 ERA and 1.25 WHIP despite an 8/7 K/BB ratio over 17 2/3 innings.

Rockies will recall Greg Reynolds from Triple-A Colorado Springs before Sunday's game.

Reynolds will take over Felipe Paulino's roster spot and might start one of the games during Tuesday's doubleheader. He would then either be demoted for another relief arm or saved for next Saturday's start.

Rockies optioned RHP Greg Reynolds to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Reynolds was brought up last week to make two spot starts but is no longer needed with Ubaldo Jimenez's return now on the horizon. Reynolds could resurface in the big leagues later this summer as a long reliever.
Thu, Apr 14, 2011 04:11:00 PM

Greg Reynolds earned his first major league victory since June 17, 2008 by allowing two runs over five innings Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader against the Mets.

Reynolds was 2-8 as a rookie in 2008 before getting hurt and missing much of 2009 and 2010. So far in 2011, he's given the Rockies a pair of quality starts, though he's struck out just three batters in the process. He's still likely to head back to Triple-A to make room for Ubaldo Jimenez in the rotation.
