Jair Jurrjens threw for Royals officials on Monday in Surprise, Arizona.
Jurrjens last appeared in the majors in 2014, when he allowed 20 hits and 11 earned runs in 9 1/3 innings (two spot starts) with the Rockies. Kansas City could give him a non-guaranteed minor league deal, but there is nothing official yet on that front. Jurrjens turned 31 years old in late January. Feb 13 - 1:39 PM

Rockies signed RHP Jair Jurrjens to a minor league contract.

Jurrjens elected free agency back in October but eventually decided his best fit was a return to the Rockies. Though he's still only 28-years-old, he hasn't been a viable big league starter since the 2011 season and a return to that level seems unlikely. He'll compete for a spot in the Rockies rotation this spring.

Jair Jurrjens has elected free agency.

The veteran right-hander was outrighted off of the Rockies 40-man roster around mid-season after posting a 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in his two starts for the big league club. He'll look to latch on elsewhere on a minor league deal.

Rockies sent RHP Jair Jurrjens outright to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Jurrjens had been designated for assignment, but he's cleared waivers and will remain in the organization. The veteran righty held a 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in two starts for the Rockies.

Rockies designated RHP Jair Jurrjens for assignment.

The move clears a spot for Ben Paulsen on the active roster. Jurrjens pitched for the Rockies earlier this month and posted a 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in two starts.

Rockies optioned RHP Jair Jurrjens to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

He's clearing room for the return of Carlos Gonzalez (finger). Jurrjens posted a 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP in two starts for the Rockies. It's possible he'll get another chance after the All-Star break if the club decides that Eddie Butler (shoulder) isn't ready yet.

Jair Jurrjens gave up three earned runs over 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Padres.

Jurrjens surrendered eight hits and walked two in the rough outing, but the Rockies' bullpen and offense both performed well in the 6-3 victory. Jurrjens has a hideous 10.61 ERA and 2.46 WHIP through two starts. He is not long for Colorado's big league rotation.

Jair Jurrjens said that he's feeling better after getting checked out at the hospital for breathing issues after Friday's start against the Dodgers.

Jurrjens admitted that the high altitude in Colorado affected him was the reason for the difficulty in breathing. After his rough effort on the mound on Friday, it's unclear if he'll get a chance to make another trip through the Rockies rotation.

Jair Jurrjens was taken to a local hospital after Friday's start against the Dodgers because of breathing issues.

Jurrjens, who was acquired from the Reds earlier this week, was hit hard for eight runs on 12 hits and one walk over 4 2/3 innings on Friday. The Rockies should provide an update on his status soon.

Rockies purchased the contract of RHP Jair Jurrjens from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Jurrjens' first start in the majors in over a year will come Friday at Coors Field against Clayton Kershaw. The veteran right-hander has posted a 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 27/13 K/BB ratio through 34 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and shouldn't draw any attention in fantasy leagues.

Jair Jurrjens will be called up to start on Friday against the Dodgers.

Jurrjens was acquired from the Reds on Thursday as the Rockies looked for some depth given the bevy of injuries to their rotation. The veteran right-hander has posted a 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 27/13 K/BB ratio through 34 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Rockies acquired RHP Jair Jurrjens from the Reds for INF Harold Riggins.

Jurrjens had posted an underwhelming 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 27/13 K/BB ratio through 34 1/3 innings this season at Triple-A Louisville. But the 28-year-old may still get a shot at some point with the big-league Rockies, who have the worst team ERA in MLB this season.

Reds signed RHP Jair Jurrjens to a minor league contract.

Knee problems have limited Jurrjens to 13 appearances (11 starts) in the majors over the past two seasons, but he's back to 100 percent following a procedure last September. It's tough to expect much at this point, but it's easy to forget that he's only 28 years old.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Jair Jurrjens (knee) is currently touching 90 mph in throwing sessions and looking to sign on with a major league team.

Knee issues have limited Jurrjens to just 11 starts over the last two seasons in the majors. He's coming back from a knee operation performed last September but is evidently healthy now. He turned just 28 in January and would make for a solid no-risk minor league signing for someone.

Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown reports that Jair Jurrjens is "getting some free-agent love."

Brown also reveals that Jurrjens underwent knee surgery in September that requires 8-10 weeks of recovery. The right-hander has undergone multiple surgeries in the past and worked on minor league deals for the Orioles and Tigers this past season. He'll surely have to settle for another non-guaranteed pact.
