Jack Hannahan grounded out as a pinch-hitter in Monday's victory against the Mets.
The Minnesota native is miscast as a pinch-hitter and is no threat to Todd Frazier's job, despite the latter's struggles. Hannahan is known for his glove, not his stick, but Cincinnati likely hoped for more than a .222/.317/.278 slash line when they inked him to a two-year, $4 million contract over the offseason. Reds signed INF Jack Hannahan to a two-year, $4 million contract with a club option for 2015.

It was originally reported as a one-year deal, but the Reds wound up having to go a little longer. Hannahan will serve as Todd Frazier's primary backup at third base in 2013 while also providing depth all around the Cincinnati infield. The 32-year-old hit .244/.312/.341 in 105 games this past summer for the Indians.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Reds have reached agreement with infielder Jack Hannahan on a one-year, $2 million contract.

This is more than Hannahan projected to make in arbitration prior to being non-tendered by the Indians last month, so he did pretty well here. The 32-year-old infielder batted .244/.312/.341 with four home runs, 29 RBI and a .654 OPS this past season and figures to serve as Todd Frazier's backup at third base. He'll once again be teammates with Shin-Soo Choo and Jason Donald, who were traded to the Reds on Tuesday night.

Hannahan has drawn interest from a range of different clubs, but the Twins, White Sox and Reds have been connected to him most recently. The 32-year-old infielder batted .244/.312/.341 with four home runs and 29 RBI over 318 plate appearances this summer for Cleveland.

Bastian hears that seven teams have met with Hannahan's agent at the Winter Meetings, including five with "genuine" interest. Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Yankees are interested in Jack Hannahan.

The Yankees likely view him as a fallback if they can't land Jeff Keppinger. Hannahan was non-tendered by the Indians last week and has also drawn interest from the White Sox and Marlins. The 32-year-old batted .244/.312/.341 with four home runs, 29 RBI and a .654 OPS over 318 plate appearances this past season.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi hears that Jack Hannahan is receiving interest from the White Sox and Marlins.

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported earlier that Hannahan has a big league offer from an AL Central team, and it sounds like it's probably the White Sox. The Marlins are looking for third base help after dealing Yunel Escobar to Tampa. The Twins have also met with Hannahan's representatives.

Indians GM Chris Antonetti confirmed that the Indians are interested in re-signing Jack Hannahan.

Hannahan was non-tendered after making $1.14 million last season, but will likely be brought back on a team-friendly contract. The Indians are also expected to re-sign free agents Rafael Perez and Chris Seddon.

Indians designate INF Jack Hannahan for assignment.

Hannahan earned $1.135 million this past season while hitting .244/.312/.341 with four home runs, 29 RBI and a .654 OPS over 318 plate appearances. While the Indians weren't willing to give him a raise in arbitration, he should find a home as a bench player somewhere.

Jack Hannahan is expected to start every other day for his first week back from the disabled list.

The Indians will give Lonnie Chisenhall an extended look before deciding if he'll be optioned to the minors. Hannahan was activated from the disabled list Friday, but that's hardly an indicator of where he is physically. He should resume his starting role if healthy.

Indians activated 3B Jack Hannahan from the 15-day disabled list.

The defensive stud will slide back into his starting role at third base. Hannahan batted a solid .276/.353/.419 with three homers over 105 at-bats before going down with a calf injury, but he's a defense-first player that can't be counted on to hit much.

Hannahan should only need two or three rehab games, and should be back in the Indians' starting lineup by the end of this week. He has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 28 with a strained calf muscle.
