Rockies activated RHP Adam Ottavino from the 10-day disabled list.
Ottavino will be available out of the Rockies' bullpen on Thursday against the Phillies after missing a little over two weeks with a left oblique strain. The 32-year-old setup man has posted a dominant 0.95 ERA with 45 strikeouts over 28 1/3 innings this season. Jun 14 - 11:18 AM

Adam Ottavino (oblique) could be activated off the disabled list as early as Thursday.

Ottavino reported feeling strong after a live batting practice session on Tuesday afternoon. The 32-year-old setup man has been on the disabled list since May 28 with a left oblique strain. He had a stellar 0.95 ERA and 45/10 K/BB ratio over his first 28 1/3 innings this season out of the Colorado bullpen.
Jun 12 - 5:36 PM

Adam Ottavino (oblique) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday.

Ottavino had no issues recovering and Rockies manager Bud Black said "things are pointing in the right direction." The reliever is eligible for activation at any time.
Jun 10 - 1:23 PM

Rockies placed RHP Adam Ottavino on the 10-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

Ottavino evidently must have been injured during an appearance Sunday. It's a big blow to the Rockies, as he's been one of the most dominant relievers in baseball this season with a 0.95 ERA and 45/10 K/BB ratio over 28 1/3 innings. Scott Oberg has taken Ottavino's spot in the bullpen.
May 28 - 6:13 PM

Adam Ottavino pitched a scoreless ninth inning while striking out the side to earn his first save of the season on Sunday against the Mets.

Ottavino did allow a hit and a walk, but he was able to put away the Mets and keep them from scoring the tying run. It's been a sensational start of the year for the 32-year-old right-hander, and the scoreless frame lowers his ERA to a minuscule 0.47 on the season. Wade Davis isn't going to lose the closer job anytime soon -- probably not ever -- but Ottavino still has some value because of his ability to miss bats.
May 6 - 4:57 PM

Adam Ottavino struck out both of the batters he faced Friday versus the Nationals.

His excellent start continues. Ottavino now has 8 2/3 scoreless innings under his belt. Even better, he’s allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out 18 batters. It doesn't get much better than that. Offseason addition Wade Davis is firmly entrenched as the Rockies’ closer, but Ottavino could still help in some fantasy leagues even if he isn’t getting saves.
Apr 13 - 10:51 PM

After coming in with the Rockies down 5-1, Adam Ottavino gave up three runs in an inning Tuesday against the Reds.

Ottavino has struggled mightily since coming off the disabled list last month, giving up 14 runs and five homers in eight innings. He had a 2.45 ERA in 24 appearances before getting hurt. At this point, the Rockies would probably have to go with Jake McGee in the closer's role if anything happened to Greg Holland.

Rockies activated RHP Adam Ottavino from the 10-day disabled list.

Ottavino missed the minimum amount of time on the DL with a sore shoulder. He's ready to resume setup duties.

Adam Ottavino (shoulder) said he feels "great" and is ready to return from the disabled list.

He should be activated in time for Friday's game against the Cubs. Ottavino needed just over a week to recover from shoulder inflammation. He'll continue to set up for stud closer Greg Holland.

Adam Ottavino (shoulder) is expected to return to the Rockies' bullpen later this week.

Ottavino was placed on the disabled list May 30 with right shoulder inflammation. Thankfully it was nothing too serious. The setup man owns an impressive 2.57 ERA in 23 appearances this season for Colorado.

Rockies placed RHP Adam Ottavino on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

Ottavino walked two of the four batters he faced on Monday against the Mariners, though he owns a sharp 2.57 ERA in 23 total appearances this season. It's not clear how long the setup man will be sidelined.

Adam Ottavino had a shaky appearance in Monday’s loss to the Royals, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning.

Ottavino was handed a 2-0 lead going into the top of the seventh, but he gave up back-to-back singles to Cheslor Cuthbert and Whit Merrifield to begin the frame. Both eventually scored on a game-tying single by Ramon Torres. Ottavino was pulled after walking two batters to load the bases. It was a rough day at the office, but Ottavino remains the presumed closer for Colorado. That could obviously change based on his performance and how Greg Holland looks after returning from Tommy John surgery.

Adam Ottavino struck out two batters in a 1-2-3 inning on Monday against the Dodgers.

The Rockies signed former Royals closer Greg Holland to a one-year, $7 million contract back in January, but he’s still working his way back into action in simulated games. Ottavino was solid in his first year back from Tommy John surgery last season, posting a 2.67 ERA and 35/7 K/BB ratio over 27 innings. Ottavino looks like the favorite to begin the year as the closer at the moment, but Holland could be a threat if he proves his health and effectiveness.

Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post expects Adam Ottavino to open the year as the Rockies' closer.

The Rockies just signed former Royals closer Greg Holland to a one-year, $7 million deal but Saunders doesn't see him as an option in the ninth inning, at least in the early going. Holland is coming off Tommy John surgery and his velocity was way down when he held his showcase earlier this offseason. Ottavino pitched reasonably well last season, logging a 2.67 ERA over 34 appearances. It's hard to trust any pitcher who calls Coors Field home, but if you're going to choose a Rockies reliever in fantasy, Ottavino is probably the one to own.

Adam Ottavino tossed a perfect ninth inning Friday against the Brewers for his seventh save of the season.

Ottavino struck out two out of the three batters he faced. The 30-year-old is just 7-for-12 in save chances this season, but he has converted five out of his last six chances. He owns an impressive 2.42 ERA and 32/7 K/BB ratio over 26 innings in his first year back from Tommy John surgery.
