The 32-year-old offers all sorts of defensive versatility and owns a career line of .286/.345/.397 over 871 career plate appearances. He was non-tendered by the Brewers over the winter and signed to a minor league deal by the Rays after turning in a .254/.331/.401 batting line in 2010.

Brewers non-tendered OF Joe Inglett.

Inglett turned in a disappointing .254/.331/.401 batting line, one home run and eight RBI over 142 at-bats in 2010. He's 32 years old, not very talented, and will probably have to settle for a minor league deal.

Brewers beat writer Adam McCalvy thinks the signing of Brandon Boggs might spell the end of Joe Inglett's tenure in Milwaukee.

Well, it's not exactly Jeter-leaving-the-Yankees news. Inglett, who is arbitration-eligible, was a valuable pinch-hitter for the Brew Crew in 2010, picking up 20 hits in 68 at-bats for a .294 average. He's capable of playing every position but first base, catcher and pitcher, so some team in need of a utlilityman will give him a shot.

Joe Inglett was scratched from Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks because of allergies.

Inglett hasn't enjoyed a great spring, but he won a spot on the Opening Day roster anyway. The 31-year-old utility man should be considered day-to-day.

Joe Inglett hit a homer in the top of the ninth on Tuesday to help the Brewers beat the Cubs 5-3.

Inglett also had a single in his three at-bats. The waiver claim is bidding to make the Brewers as a utilityman, though that he and Craig Counsell are both left-handed hitters won't help his chances.

Brewers claimed IF-OF Joe Inglett off waivers from the Rangers.

Inglett continues to bounce around the majors. He was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Monday after being claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays in December. The 31-year-old utility man batted .281/.347/.348 in 99 plate appearances last season, but spent most of the season with Triple-A Las Vegas. He should get a chance to compete for a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster.
