Nyjer Morgan will get a second opinion on his ailing right knee this week from Dr. Christopher Parker.

Morgan has missed nearly two months with a sprained PCL in his right knee and has yet to resume baseball activities. "I don't know if it's a setback," said Indians manager Terry Francona. "I think he just wants to get a second opinion, which they're always encouraged to do."
Jul 7 - 9:08 PM

Indians transferred OF Nyjer Morgan from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

Morgan suffered a sprained PCL in his right knee earlier this month. He remains out indefinitely.
May 22 - 3:16 PM

Nyjer Morgan has been diagnosed with a sprained PCL in his right knee.

Morgan will not require surgery. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but it doesn't seem like something that will require an extra long stay on the disabled list.
May 16 - 4:51 PM

Indians placed OF Nyjer Morgan on the 15-day disabled list with a mild right knee sprain.

Morgan suffered the injury on Wednesday night. He is expected to be ready as soon as his 15 days are up.
May 15 - 3:07 PM

Nyjer Morgan left Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays with a mild right knee sprain.

The kicker is that Morgan was only in the game because of an injury to Michael Brantley. The term "mild" suggests it's not a serious issue and Morgan should be back soon. Still, with two outfielders down the Indians may need to make a roster move before Thursday's game.
May 14 - 9:33 PM

Nyjer Morgan went 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored in Sunday's win over the Rays.

Morgan's first home run of the year was also his first since July 30, 2012. It was the third time he crossed the plate on the afternoon, giving him eight runs in 14 games played this year. With Michael Bourn struggling, it wouldn't be surprising to see Morgan and his .341/.429/.439 line get more playing time in the coming days.
May 11 - 6:54 PM

Indians recalled OF Nyjer Morgan from Triple-A Columbus.

Morgan was demoted last month even after hitting .348/.484/.348 with three steals over nine games. He'll provide some depth in center field while Michael Bourn (hamstring) is banged up.
May 4 - 10:37 AM

Indians option OF Nyjer Morgan to Triple-A Columbus.

The move clears a spot for Michael Bourn's return from the disabled list. Morgan played well during his time with the Indians, hitting .348 (8-for-23) with three stolen bases in nine games. We'll likely see him in the majors again soon.
Apr 15 - 3:23 PM

Nyjer Morgan went 2-for-4 with two walks Saturday against the Indians.

After making the Indians out of spring training, Morgan is 4-for-10 with four walks and two RBI through four games this season. Michael Bourn (hamstring) is slated to come off the disabled list soon, but the 33-year-old might be able to stick around as an extra outfielder.
Apr 5 - 4:21 PM

Nyjer Morgan hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in Monday's 2-0 win over the Athletics.

After spending last season in Japan, Morgan made the Indians out of spring training and started in center field and batted leadoff on Opening Day. His sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning broke a scoreless tie. Michael Bourn (hamstring) could be activated from the disabled list as soon as this weekend, so Morgan might not be around for long.
Apr 1 - 9:55 AM

Indians purchased the contract of OF Nyjer Morgan from Triple-A Columbus.

Morgan hit only .208/.333/.292 this spring, but with Michael Bourn (hamstring) out the Indians need some help in center field. The fiery outfielder should see plenty of playing time versus righties while Bourn is out and might be worth a look in deep fantasy formats.
Mar 30 - 1:12 PM

Nyjer Morgan has made the Indians' Opening Day roster.

Morgan was given the good news Monday by manager Terry Francona and will open the season as a backup at all three outfield spots. He's not fantasy-relevant.
Mar 24 - 12:17 PM

Nyjer Morgan swiped his second base of the Cactus League season and scored a run in a losing effort against the Angels on Sunday.

The 33-year-old outfielder finished the afternoon 0-for-2 with a walk, lowering his spring average to .219. With Michael Bourn's status for Opening Day uncertain, Morgan still has a chance to crack the Tribe's roster to begin the season.
Mar 23 - 8:37 PM

Nyjer Morgan (calf) is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday.

Morgan suffered a calf injury over the weekend but has made a quick recovery. With Michael Bourn's (calf) status up in the air, Morgan could have a shot a roster spot.
