Engel Beltre will have a rod inserted into his injured left leg on Wednesday.

Beltre suffered a fractured right tibia in March and now it's his left leg that needs a major repair. The 24-year-old appeared in only 14 minor league games this season. He was once considered a top prospect.

Texas lost Nelson Cruz to a 50-game PED suspension on Monday, so Beltre will help provide some needed outfield depth. The 23-year-old has some speed and some power and could take on value in AL-only fantasy formats if the Rangers find him enough playing time.
