Giants released OF Terry Evans.

The Giants inked Evans to a minor league contract in mid-January, also offering him an invitation to spring training. The 29-year-old hit just .232/.311/.337 with eight extra-base hits in 39 games at Triple-A Fresno.

Giants signed OF Terry Evans to a minor league contract.

The deal also comes with an invitation to the Giants' spring training camp. Evans, who turned 29 years old on January 19, has been a decent hitter and shown good power and speed in a nine-year minor league career, but has earned only 19 at-bats at the major league level. The Giants have several decent outfielders and Evans will have only a small window to prove himself.

Angels sent OF Terry Evans outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The move clears roster space for Scott Kazmir, who is scheduled to return from the disabled list and start Thursday against the Yankees. Evans, 28, failed to register a hit in his lone major league at-bat this year.

Terry Evans went 5-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI in Wednesday’s rout of the Cubs.

Evans is nearly certain to make the Angels if Reggie Willits starts off on the DL, and today he made a case for winning a roster spot on merit. He’s out of options and he has plenty of tools, so there’s a good chance someone would pick him up if the Angels tried to send him down. His biggest downfall is his lack of on-base ability.

Angels recalled outfielder Terry Evans from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Evans was called up to the big leagues in late July, and wasn't given a single at-bat. He hit .291 with 26 homers and 90 RBI this season at Salt Lake, but will once again struggle for playing time in the Angels' crowded outfield.

Angels optioned outfielder Terry Evans to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Called up earlier this week for a little outfield depth, Evans knew his stay in the bigs wouldn't be long. He didn't have a single at-bat.

Angels recalled outfielder Terry Evans from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Without need for a fifth starter over the next two weeks, the Angels called up Evans as an extra bench bat and insurance for a decimated outfield -- Torii Hunter and Vladimir Guerrero are on the DL and Juan Rivera has a sore hamstring. Evans was raking at Salt Lake, hitting .290 with 19 homers and 66 RBIs in 93 games. Evans was 1-for-11 with a homer in a very brief stint with the Angels two years ago. That is the extent of his major league service to this point.

Angels recalled outfielder Terry Evans from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Evans is another option in center field with Gary Matthews Jr. down, but he's going to play behind Reggie Willits.

Angels optioned outfielder Terry Evans from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Some reward for his homer Wednesday. The Angels should have dropped Nathan Haynes instead, but even though he has no place in they're plans, they're afraid of losing him on waivers.

Terry Evans hit his first major league homer Wednesday off the Astros' Wandy Rodriguez.

It was a two-run shot. Evans also walked and came around to score. He might see fairly significant playing time at DH while Garret Anderson is out, giving him value in AL-only leagues.

Angels recalled outfielder Terry Evans from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Evans, who was picked up from the Cardinals for Jeff Weaver last year, will be making his major league debut after hitting .327/.352/.556 with 10 homers and 13 steals for Salt Lake. He has some fantasy upside if he gets a few starts per week at DH. Still, his eagerness to chase bad pitches could make it difficult for him to amass a decent OBP.

Angels optioned OF Terry Evans and RHP Steven Shell to Triple-A Salt Lake; optioned RHP Jose Arredondo to Double-A Arkansas; reassigned INF Mike Eylward, INF Sean Rodriguez, INF Hainley Statia and OF Aaron Peel to minor league camp.

Evans went 5-for-17 with three doubles. He'll be one of the options to step in if the Angels lose an outfielder, but both Reggie Willits and Tommy Murphy are ahead of him at the moment.

Angels purchased the contract of OF Terry Evans, C Bobby Wilson and iNF Matt Brown.

Wilson might not have made the cut under the old rules, but it was an easy call since the Angels didn't have to protect some of their younger prospects. Evans, the player the Angels acquired from the Cards for Jeff Weaver, hit .309/.377/.565 between Single-A Palm Beach and two Double-A teams last season. In he, Reggie Willits and Tommy Murphy, the Angels will have some interesting alternatives should an outfielder get hurt next season.

Terry Evans had to be scratched from Friday's AFL Rising Stars game due to a leg injury.

No word on the severity of the problem. Evans is 7-for-25 with a homer and a 9/1 K/BB ratio in Arizona.
