Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Wednesday that Josh Bell's deal with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization could happen "any day now."

Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reported over the weekend that the deal was done, but Bell is still the property of the Dodgers at the moment. However, an official agreement with the LG Twins sounds like a formality.

According to Eric Stephen of True Blue LA, the Dodgers are saying that they still have Josh Bell under contract.

It was reported over the weekend that Bell had agreed to a deal with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization, but it's either not official yet or the Dodgers don't plan on letting him go so easily. The 27-year-old agreed to a minor league deal with Los Angeles last month.

The LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization have signed INF Josh Bell, a source tells Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net.

Bell was once one of the top prospects in baseball but was never able to have sustained success at the MLB level. The 27-year-old split 2013 between the Yankees and White Sox organizations, batting .226/.324/.356 in 52 games. He signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers in December, but it seems he's elected to try his hand overseas instead.
Jan 4 - 8:16 PM

Dodgers signed 3B Josh Bell to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Bell was a top prospect when he was last with the Dodgers, but he's bottomed out since then. The 27-year-old spent all of 2013 at Triple-A with the White Sox and Yankees, batting just .226/.324/.356 with five homers over 52 games. He's merely organizational depth.

Yankees released 3B Josh Bell.

The former top prospect has batted just .226/.324/.356 at the Triple-A level for the White Sox and Yankees this season. He's still just 26 and will get another shot somewhere, but the odds of him making an impact in the majors these days aren't high.

White Sox released 3B Josh Bell.

Bell was hitting .273/.310/.345 with four doubles, four RBI and a .656 OPS in 15 games with Triple-A Charlotte. The 26-year-old has struggled in his previous opportunities in the majors and will hope to latch on elsewhere as organizational depth.

Josh Bell has elected free agency.

Bell managed a lowly .173/.232/.269 batting line with one homer over 21 contests in his time with the D'Backs this season. The 26-year-old former top prospect will now look to catch on in another organization.

Diamondbacks sent 3B Josh Bell outright to Triple-A Reno.

Bell hit only .173/.232/.269 with one homer over 21 contests in his time with the D'Backs this season. He'll likely begin 2013 back at Triple-A.

Diamondbacks recalled 3B Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno.

Bell hit well at Triple-A this season but was a disaster in his time with the D'Backs, batting .173/.232/.269 with one homer over 21 contests. He'll likely begin 2013 back at Triple-A.

Diamondbacks optioned INF Josh Bell to Triple-A Reno.

Bell batted .173/.232/.269 with one homer and four RBI in 21 games this season for Arizona. The 25-year-old was given the boot to clear roster space for Trevor Bauer.

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Monday that Josh Bell was promoted to start at third base.

In turn, Ryan Roberts will be shifted into a utility infield role. Bell was hitting .381/.429/.619 with four homers, 30 RBI and a 1.047 OPS in 112 plate appearances with Triple-A Reno, but he has an awful .200/.221/.264 batting line and a 78/6 K/BB over 226 plate appearances in the majors. He's worth a flier in NL-only leagues, but we don't think this arrangement will last very long.

Diamondbacks recalled INF Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno.

Bell, who was acquired from the Orioles in late April, was hitting .381/.429/.619 with four homers, 30 RBI and a 1.047 OPS in 112 plate appearances with the Aces. We aren't ready to give up on the 25-year-old completely, but he has a woeful 78/6 K/BB ratio over 226 plate appearances in the big leagues. Ryan Roberts has turned things around a bit this month, so we wouldn't bank on a ton of playing time.

Diamondbacks acquired INF Josh Bell from the Orioles for a player to be named later.

Bell was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Orioles. He was once considered a top prospect but has now been given up on by the Dodgers and O's.

Orioles designated 3B Josh Bell for assignment.

He was cleared to make room for the newly-claimed Luis Exposito on the Orioles' 40-man roster. Bell was considered the third baseman of the future after coming over from the Dodgers in the George Sherrill deal at the deadline in 2009, but he has a lousy .200/.221/.264 batting line and a stunningly awful 78/6 K/BB over 226 plate appearances in the majors. There isn't much hope left, but it will be interesting to see if someone takes a chance on the 25-year-old.
