Shane Robinson scored a run as a pinch-runner in Sunday's 11-4 extra-innings win against the Reds.
Robinson ran for Matt Adams in the seventh and crossed the plate on Carlos Beltran's sacrifice fly, which tied the game at four apiece and eventually forced the contest beyond regulation. Robinson doesn't play enough to warrant attention outside of the deepest of deep NL-only leagues. Jun 10 - 12:31 AM

Shane Robinson had a grand slam, a double and a walk Friday in the Cardinals' 16-10 defeat of the Nationals.

At 16-for-30 this spring, Robinson is putting distance between himself, Adron Chambers and Justin Christian in the competition for a bench spot. The Cardinals could always eschew all of them and go with Oscar Taveras instead, but that remains highly unlikely to happen.

After entering as a pinch-runner, Shane Robinson went 2-for-2 with three runs and four runs scored in the rout of the Mets on Wednesday.

Robinson is competing with Adron Chambers and Justin Christian for a spot on the St. Louis bench, but the winner probably won't have any fantasy value. If a starter goes down, the Cardinals will probably turn to Oscar Taveras or maybe put Allen Craig or Matt Carpenter in the outfield.

Cardinals recalled OF Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson replaces the injured Lance Berkman (knee) on the active roster and will make the start in center field Friday night. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting .256/.304/.344 with two home runs, 12 RBI and a .648 OPS over 135 plate appearances with the Cardinals this season.

Cardinals optioned OF Shane Robinson to Triple-A Memphis.

He was sent down to make room for Lance Berkman's return from the disabled list on Saturday. Robinson is hitting .256/.304/.344 with two home runs, 12 RBI and a .648 OPS over 125 at-bats this season and should return to the majors later this summer.

According to MLB.com, Shane Robinson is dealing with recent ''migraine issues.''

Robinson was scheduled to make a second consecutive start in center field on Sunday, but apparently dealt with the migraine in a quiet, dark room inside Citi Field. He'll be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Shane Robinson went 2-for-3 including a double in a losing effort against R.A. Dickey and the Mets on Saturday.

Robinson made the start in center field in place of the injured Jon Jay, and had a nice night at the plate. He's now hitting .256 with seven RBI in 78 at-bats on the season, and should continue to see occasional playing time in center while Jay is sidelined.

Cardinals recalled OF Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson was just optioned down to the minors on Sunday, but he's back now that Jon Jay (shoulder) has been placed on the disabled list. The 27-year-old is hitting .311 (14-for-45) with a homer and five RBI in 23 games with the Cardinals this season. He'll likely share playing time with Skip Schumaker in center field while Jay is sidelined.

Cardinals optioned OF Shane Robinson to Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson got off to a surprisingly good start at the plate while receiving occasional playing time, and he's a terrific defensive center fielder. In reality, though, he's not much with the bat and is eminently replaceable as an extra outfielder.

Shane Robinson went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Brewers.

Robinson also played solid defense in center field. The home run -- a towering shot to left field in the top of the ninth inning -- was the 27-year-old's first in the major leagues. He's serving as a reserve outfielder while Allen Craig recovers from offseason knee surgery.

Cardinals purchased contract of OF Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson batted .299/.366/.455 with four homers, 23 RBI and six stolen bases over 43 games at the Triple-A level this season. The 26-year-old missed most of the first half of the season due to injuries sustained in a collision with teammate Andrew Brown. He will serve as a reserve outfielder and pinch-runner down the stretch.

Shane Robinson had surgery Friday to repair a fractured second metacarpal on his left hand and will undergo additional surgery next Wednesday to repair a broken orbital bone in his face.

It's the result of a collision that occurred with fellow outfielder Andrew Brown at Triple-A Memphis earlier this month. Robinson is expected to miss six weeks of action, which, all things considered, is a pretty positive outlook.

Shane Robinson suffered facial fractures this weekend in a collision at Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson collided with fellow Memphis Redbirds outfielder Andrew Brown, who suffered a concussion. Robinson needs surgery and will miss a few months.

Shane Robinson went 5-for-6 and drove in three runs Thursday for Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson reached the majors in May 2009, spending two weeks with the Cardinals, but he hasn't been back since, not even as a September callup. He might be in line for a return if the Cardinals lose Lance Berkman or another outfielder for an extended time this year, but he'd be looked at strictly as a reserve.

Cardinals optioned outfielder Shane Robinson to Triple-A Memphis.

Robinson went 6-for-25 with one double and one RBI in 11 games with the Cardinals. The little man is likely to be recalled in September, when rosters expand.
