In a larger sample size, he owned a 4.04 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 88/34 K/BB ratio across 91 1/3 frames between Double- and Triple-A. He might not draw much interest on waivers.

Dodgers purchased the contract of RHP Fabio Castillo from Triple-A Oklahoma City; optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

It's a paperwork move that officially adds Castillo to the Dodgers' 40-man roster. The 28-year-old right-hander has allowed just one run in seven innings of relief this season at the Triple-A level and could get a look in Los Angeles later this summer.

The 27-year-old hurler split his 2016 season between Hanwha of the Korean Baseball Organization (6.53 ERA, 1.77 WHIP in 73 innings) and the Padres' minor league system where he registered a 4.52 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 66/33 K/BB ratio across 77 2/3 innings between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso. He'll add rotation depth at the minor league level.

Rangers prospect Fabio Castillo has begun trying to walk without the protective boot on his left foot.

Castillo is still recovering from a broken bone and probably won't step atop a mound for another several weeks. The 22-year-old righty finished with strong numbers between stays at Single-A and Double-A last season. He has some promise and may climb to Triple-A by the end of 2011 if all goes well this year.

Rangers prospect right-hander Fabio Castillo is currently slowed due to a broken bone in his left foot.

Castillo is currently getting around camp in a walking boot. The Rangers added the young right-hander to their 40-man roster after he posted a 2.11 ERA and 67/30 K/BB ratio over 55 1/3 innings between High-A Bakersfield and Double-A Frisco last season. He was recently ranked as the organization's No. 23 prospect by Baseball America.
