Bobby Wilson hit his first home run since 2016 in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.
Luke Gregerson hung a slider to Wilson in the seventh inning and the journeyman catcher yanked it over the left field wall. Wilson has been sharing playing time at catcher with Mitch Garver since Jason Castro (knee) went down. There's no fantasy value here. May 15 - 11:13 PM

Twins purchased the contract of C Bobby Wilson from Triple-A Rochester.

Wilson was needed after starting catcher Jason Castro hit the shelf with a meniscus tear in his right knee. Ervin Santana was moved to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man for Wilson, who was signed to a minor league deal over the winter. Wilson will back up Mitch Garver until Castro returns.

Twins signed C Bobby Wilson to a minor league contract.

Wilson spent the 2017 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Dodgers, slashing .243/.318/.428 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI in 75 games. The 34-year-old catcher will function as organizational depth for Minnesota.

Dodgers reassigned C Bobby Wilson to minor league camp.

Wilson had very little chance of making the team with Yasmani Grandal and Austin Barnes ahead of him on the catching depth chart. He brought his power stroke to the Cactus League, bopping four homers in only 40 at-bats. The 33-year-old hit .237 over 75 games for the Rays, Rangers and Tigers last season.

Dodgers signed C Bobby Wilson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Jon Heyman says Wilson will make $1 million if he makes it up to the major league roster. The 33-year-old is a defensive-minded backstop who is a career .214/.268/.319 hitter over parts of eight seasons in the big leagues.

Bobby Wilson has elected free agency.

Wilson chose free agency after being outrighted off the Rays' 40-man roster. The 33-year-old hit .237 with seven homers and a .626 OPS over 75 games this season while making stops with the Tigers, Rangers, and Rays. He might be able to land a major league contract elsewhere.

Bobby Wilson clubbed his sixth home run of the season in a losing effort against the Yankees on Saturday.

His solo shot off Masahiro Tanaka in the eighth inning was the only offense that the Rays were able to generate on the afternoon. Wilson finished the day 1-for-3, raising his season slash to .246/.277/.367 to go along with six long balls and 32 RBI.

Rays claimed C Bobby Wilson off waivers from the Rangers.

Wilson was designated for assignment by the Rangers at the trade deadline to open a spot for Jonathan Lucroy. The 33-year-old could see semi-regular time behind the plate with Tampa Bay, but he is not fantasy relevant.

Rangers designated C Bobby Wilson for assignment.

Bryan Holaday was also designated for assignment after Monday's acquisition of Jonathan Lucroy. Wilson, 33, was batting .250/.277/.352 with three homers over 141 plate appearances this season.

Bobby Wilson hit his second grand slam of the season in Saturday's 6-5, 10-inning win over the Blue Jays.

Wilson has flashed almost no power during his major league career -- entering Saturday's game he had just 10 home runs to his name over 559 at-bats -- but the world works in mysterious ways. After being traded from the Tigers to the Rangers in early May, the 33-year-old has socked a pair of grand slams in just 24 at-bats. He burned Marco Estrada in the second inning on Saturday. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when the Rangers will load the bases and allow Wilson to work his magic moving forward. His career .208/.270/.306 triple-slash does not suggest there will be many more trips to Denny's this season.

Bobby Wilson launched a grand slam in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.

Ah, the poetry. Wilson was traded from the Tigers to the Rangers on May 3. Just five days later, he made them pay. The 33-year-old backstop cranked a grand slam off Tigers reliever Mark Lowe in the eighth inning to help propel his new club to victory. Despite the heroics, Wilson holds a .203/.266/.299 triple-slash for his major league career and can be safely avoided in all fantasy formats.

Rangers acquired C Bobby Wilson from the Tigers for LHP Chad Bell.

The Rangers already acquired Bryan Holaday from the Tigers back in March and now they have added another catcher to the mix as they try to get by without Robinson Chirinos. The 33-year-old Wilson is a .203/.266/.299 hitter in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
Tue, May 3, 2016 02:03:00 PM

Tigers purchased the contract of C Bobby Wilson from Triple-A Toledo.

He'll take the place of the injured James McCann (ankle) on the active roster. Wilson is a .204/.267/.303 hitter in the majors, so don't look for any fantasy value here.
Tue, Apr 12, 2016 09:32:00 AM

Tigers acquired C Bobby Wilson and RHP Miles Jaye from the Rangers in exchange for C Bryan Holaday.

Wilson is on a minor league contract and will head to Triple-A for the Tigers. He's a career .204/.267/.303 hitter in the majors.
Tue, Mar 29, 2016 08:42:00 PM

Rangers re-signed C Bobby Wilson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Wilson became a free agent after being outrighted off the Rangers' 40-man roster last month, but it didn't take them long to agree to a new deal. The 32-year-old will serve as organizational depth.
