Rangers purchased the contract of LHP Ryan Feierabend from Triple-A Round Rock.

He's a candidate to start for the Rangers on Sunday in their first half finale against the Angels. It will mark the first time that he's been back in the major leagues since he was a member of the Mariners during the 2008 season.
Jul 12 - 3:54 PM

Phillies signed LHP Ryan Feierabend to a minor league deal.

Feierabend posted a 5.14 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 122 2/3 innings in the minors this past season in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. The Phillies need help on the left side of their bullpen, but it's doubtful that the former Mariner is the answer.

Mariners sent LHP Ryan Feierabend outright to Triple-A Tacoma.

Feierabend was once considered a top prospect in the Mariners' system, but Tommy John surgery cost him all of 2009 and he posted an ugly 5.30 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 88 1/3 innings this year at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old lefty is no longer on Seattle's 40-man roster.

Mariners optioned LHP Ryan Feierabend to Triple-A Tacoma.

Feierabend was part of Seattle's first cuts of the spring. The 24-year-old left-hander is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery that cost him the entire 2009 season.

Ryan Feierabend will miss the 2009 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery Wednesday.

The Mariners were holding out some hope that a less-extensive procedure would fix the problem, but Dr. Lewis Yocum determined that Tommy John surgery was the best option.

The Seattle Times reports that Ryan Feierabend is scheduled to undergo elbow surgery after an MRI exam revealed "some ligament damage."

"It showed something,'' manager Don Wakamatsu said. "Not a total tear or anything like that but it's going to be a while.'' Feierabend was unlikely to crack the Mariners' rotation coming out of spring training anyway, but may be facing a lost season.
Wed, Feb 25, 2009 12:06:00 PM

Ryan Feierabend has been scratched from his scheduled start in the Mariners' season finale because he's "not feeling up to par."

R.A. Dickey will start in his place. Feierabend was 1-4 with a 7.71 ERA in eight starts this season with an opponent's batting average of .355. Those numbers are terrible, but manager Jim Riggleman likes the 23-year-old's stuff and has hinted that he'll be given a shot to claim a rotation spot in the spring.
Sat, Sep 27, 2008 11:19:00 AM

Ryan Feierabend was lit up for eight runs in 3 1/3 innings by the Royals on Thursday.

It's the second time he's been shelled in seven starts since being recalled. He's had three strong outings in that time, but his weak ones have been ugly enough to leave him with a 7.06 ERA.
Thu, Sep 18, 2008 05:11:00 PM

Ryan Feierabend held the Yankees to two runs in seven innings to record a win on Sunday.

He struck out four and walked three with both runs coming on homers by Derek Jeter and Xavier Nady. Feierabend has pitched well in three of five starts since being promoted, but his other two starts were both poor and his ERA is 5.53 as a result. He's too risky to use in fantasy leagues right now.
